Racing tips: The formline of Madame Ambassador looks too strong to ignore

It's fair to say I got it totally wrong on Lord Bryan who was in trouble a long way from home, maybe the too much recent racing caught up to him as he finished tailed off. Myristica travelled into her race like the winner but I think the heavy weight she was carrying caught up with her in the final furlong or so, resulting in her finishing in the places.

The top weight in this race, Dragons Will Rise, will have his supporters are bigger odds as he is a two-time course winner who clearly appreciates this track. However, the one I like is the Mark Johnston favourite, MADAME AMBASSADOR.

The 3yo Churchill filly looks to be on a fairly lenient mark of 77 based on her two more recent efforts in higher graded races. The run at Hamilton was extremely eye-catching, where she was travelling the best and probably traded short in running but was outstayed by Savvy Knight who was the odds-on favourite and clearly well-handicapped for that race. Savvy Knight went on run a big race in a Royal Ascot handicap, where he finished fourth, recording an RPR of 96, which puts it into perspective how good of a chance Madame Ambassador has in today's race as she made Savvy Knight work hard to get the win at Hamilton.

Her latest start looks extremely good with the runner-up, Nathanael Greene, winning the bet365 Handicap at Haydock on the weekend just past which was worth £51,540 to the winner, with Valsad finishing in third, who was also running in the same race that Madame Ambassador at Goodwood with Nathanael Greene.

At the time of watching THUNDER BEAUTY finishing second in the Group 1 at Royal Ascot behind Saffron Beach, I thought the form would be sketchy to follow as the race looked to have fell apart, which is still true, but in comparison to today's race, that is the best form in the race by an absolute landslide.

This race doesn't look strong for a Class 1 race with the majority being rated in the high 80s or low 90s, which isn't even comparable to the form of Thunder Beauty. Roman Mist was a winning tip for me a couple of months ago when she landed a Class 1 listed race at Kempton which has had the form boosted by the third horse My Astra. However, even though she finished 3rd in a Group 3 behind Bashkirova & Potapova, the horses in that haven't exactly franked the form since. Also, she has to carry a 3lb penalty for her winning a Class 1 listed race already, which will make life tough for her, but she is one of the main dangers for sure.
