After a few poor days it was nice to bounce back with both selections winning on Wednesday. They weren't great odds, but a winner is a winner, so hopefully some of you doubled them up.
Chepstow 3:31
It seems a tough ask for the 13yo DANCING SHADOW to win this against some young pretenders, but based on his form he has shown this year, there is still fight in the old dog yet.
This horse who has been campaigned over the marathon staying trips for many years, enjoys good ground, which he'll be getting today. His handicap mark has dropped down to 117, which is a career low over fences (no surprise at his age), which makes him obviously well handicapped. The form he has shown this year does suggest he can still win races, especially off this mark. He finished 2nd at Sandown in a Veterans' Handicap Chase, which the 3rd has since won. Dancing Shadow then finished 4th at Exeter in a marathon race, and was then pulled up at Sandown the time after, where the ground was heavy, which isn't ideal for him, especially the age he is at now.
He will more than likely try and win this from the front, which isn't a bad way of doing it. Hopefully he'll get into a good rhythm and be tough to pass. Jamie Moore is an interesting jockey booking, who will ensure Dancing Shadow is tough to pass.
The trainer has been quoted saying: “He's fine and in good for at home after a break. He's back up in trip, which should suit him better, and we're looking for a good run.”
I don't back horses on the odds, and I don't see them until I pick my selection and then move over to oddschecker. To see him at 3/1 fav at the time of writing is a little bit of a surprise, but it seems like there has been a bit of early money around for him, which does give a boost to my confidence.

In the ‘Dubai World Cup’ I take it mate?
Having a look I see he’s on Country Gramner and IF you can watch the last race he’s definitely improving and has proven he can be up there and do it abroad. Didn’t know he was a Bob Baffert horse now? 🇺🇸
Small liking for Hypocritical at 20/1 myself but depending on how many places.
I’ve my life savings on Life Is Good at 4/5 and he should take all the beating so I’ll leave it but good luck!
Be tuned in and I’ve a Yankee looked out I’ll put up tomorrow.
Probably talking about Pyledriver in the Sheema classic recoba Country Grammer isn’t 14s
