CHAPEL STILE (3.00) has the form in the book and it is easy to make a strong case for the Nicky Richards-trained gelding in the 2m 7f handicap chase at Kelso.
Chapel Stile came out best by a neck after a ding-dong battle with Cloudy Glen at Carlisle, the pair pulling 17 lengths clear. His earlier run, also at Carlisle, saw Chapel Stile finish third to yesterday’s winner Two For Gold.
Slanelough is trading at ew odds and should go well. Rose Dobbin’s gelding recorded a respectable third to Boldmere and Bob Mahler at Doncaster a fortnight ago. Knockoura has been raised 8lb for his Bangor success but remains competitive.
Kelso 3.35
Keith Dalgleish’s Starplex, a dual winner at Newcastle under today’s rider Brian Hughes, will be fancied by many to complete his hat-trick in the concluding handicap hurdle.
That may well be the outcome but LET’S SWAY (3.35) is my idea of the each-way angle after she showed up prominently behind Flamboyant Joyaux and Dublin Four at Wetherby on Boxing Day.

Morning all, and what a cracking morning it is. Sore head after a good session spending the BOOKIES money.
Cracking day yesterday at Warwick Races yesterday, 3 winners 10/3, 9/2, and 12/1. Silver Sheen made the day, struggling 3 out, edged left went 2nd and dived at the last. Stayed on just beating beat Doc Penfro by a neck. Sweet Revenge and Justice I reckon, lost count the number of times I have tipped 12’s and 16/1 OUTSIDERS and they have been beaten by short hd/nk or pipped on the line.
I was all over ‘Silver Sheen’ Friday [see write-up on thread], should of NAPPED it. J Harrington sending 1 horse from Ireland. Had good form in the book, winning last 2 races a BIG RUN was expected. HILLS only firm offering 12/1 PAYING 4, [stealing money, phone the OLD BILL] rest was offering 10’s, some as low as 8’s. LUMPED on BIG STYLE.
Goulane Chosen 25/1 [SP 28/1], touched 1/2 CENTURY in places. PP and SKYBET paying 5 in a field of 14-runners CERT to hit the FRAME once againg PINCHING MONEY.
Onwards there is always, ‘Light at the end of the Tunnel’.
Very weak and trappy racing today, normal Run-of-the-Mill Sunday Racing. Not a lot of VALUE knocking about. Gone with 5, hopefully the best 5 chances of winning.
