Newcastle 1.55
WITH Richard Fahey firing in winners all over the place it should pay to follow BENDY SPIRIT (1.55) under a 6lb penalty at Newcastle.
The gelding ran his rivals ragged at Lingfield last Thursday over today's seven-furlong trip and looks capable of defying his extra burden.
Dark Regard, a dual Southwell winner, added to his portfolio when scrambling home at Wolverhampton in November, but Kempton scorer Bella Brazil may be the one to follow home Bendy Spirit.
Catterick 3.45
Nicky Henderson doesn't send many up to Catterick but fields CAPTAIN WOODIE (3.45). This will be the lightly-raced eight-year-old's first attempt in handicaps and the dual bumper winner showed he retained ability when chasing home Dan Skelton's useful Emmas Joy at Warwick.
Groveman is down in class after tailing off at Sandown, while trailblazing Musselburgh scorer I'm Too Generous has been hit with a 10lb rise.

Newcastle 120 proceeding
Good morning relatively new to racing no idea how to find out who owners silks are in particular
A. Baldings Thawry in the 15.30 Newcastle .
Can anybody tell me who owner is and Balding record at Newcastle for that owner, or how I could find out myself.
Thanks in advance.
Sorry A. Britain not Balding.
One way would be to look at the Racing Post or sportinglife websites.
Thank you Mr Fixit.
Brittains yellow and maroon chequered silks are owned by himself. He is great on the AW and newcastle especially. Id say cam hardir is his main man.
Thanks database I read somewhere a while ago
It must have been A.Balding had a great record for Arab owners at Newcastle. Will have to start making notes.
use sporting life to study form, even if you cant pick a winner, you can definitely discount a bunch.
click on the horse name, it’ll show you ALL of its races. then compare what it is in today (course, distance, class and official rating) is it below it’s last winning mark (unless it’s a new progressive horse obviously)? is it over a suitable distance, is the ground ideal, if its first time out – has it won fto before? even time of year. you can break it down to logic/maths and still win without knowing anything about racing.
then you should always check the daily results, you will get to know winning trainer/jockey combos and even some win more in certain colours. adam kirby has started to get back to winning ways recently for example, always been there or there abouts but they do go through spells as do trainers. with say 30 races a day, if you have the time, you can find good chances easily. i also recommend having a PC so you can open up the race on SL, then each individual horse in a new tab, on a phone this is way too long winded but very simple on a pc.
also most importantly, you can click on horses he beat/was beaten by and see what they’ve gone on to do.
to avoid a monster post, i will write a long but quick analysis of the 1830 CFC at the bottom of the page.
Thank you database much appreciated.

6.00 Chelmsford. Ezzrah nap 7/2 bet 365
Amor Kethley, won over 6f off 60 at this track back in September. runs over 7 today for only 2nd time in hcaps, no 7lb claimer so effectively 5lbs above last winning mark and up in distance, trainer had a few 2nd/3rd recently, for me doesnt look enough for a win bet.
Viola Park was 2nd by a short head LTO over this distance but at Wolves which is a different surface. Raised 1lb for that, won at the track in 2017.. not done much here since, usual jockey on board who won with trainer 1 week ago on another horse. Has beat BRIGAND by 0.5 and is better off, not jumping off the page for win purposes though.
SEPAHI won 2 starts ago over this distance off 57, the horse he beat has won his next two starts. is 4lbs above that but has a 5lb claimer on who puts him 1 below his last winning mark. That same jockey was on board when winning at this track in March, it was off 55 though and over 2f fewer, he runs off 56 tonight. He looks quite a prospect but only the 3rd horse i’ve looked at.
Pheonix Star 3rd lto, and won before that, both over 6, 4/12 at this track before that and looks consistent. This is his first start over 7f which isn’t necessarily a reason to overlook who knows what he is being trained to do. He is still off 60 which is within reach. Top jockey on board who won with this trainer a few days ago, he looks certain to get 1 winner from his 3 rides, also there for Beckett, shouldnt be far away.
Ubla, vast experience at 7f compared to those looked at so far, has won off 55 and 2nd lto off 60. No course form but runs off 60 again and has beaten Viola Park off level weights by 1 length, he is 1lb better off and has Luke Morris on board – a big name and has won on him before, 10/1 looks decent ew potential although I don’t fancy him to win.
Brigand, won here lto over 7f, carries a 5lb penalty, also won here in July so does like it here (all 3 wins have been here in fact) has Kirby on board. Runs off 60, his opening hcap was 76, he was dead last virtually until finding form at 51, very possible he will be in the shake up but looks a lay to me but cant discount an in form horse
Classic Star, is potentially well hcapped despite not having amazing paper form. 2nd over 7f off 56, 2nd over 1m off 53, runs off 54 tonight and young claimer had winner for Ivory a week ago, her last ride. Had a break since Oct, shouldnt be an issue but for me has potential but not quite enough.
Amor Fati has some bad form figures, but as a result will race off 52. On turf back in July, it won by 5l’s off 61. Has also won at this track over 1m, so hcap rating looks enticing but recent form is more than enough to discount. 22/1 though using EW extra may be worth a tiny wager 6 places 12/1.
gonna leave it there, you get the idea in terms of what to analyse, turns out this is an open race and C6 HCAPS are a guessing game, good fair few have place claims, i’ll go with 11/1 SEPAHI though BOL
BRAINS won on December off 52, he has just won off 66 both over the mile. Sandwiched between them was a 4/14 over 7 off 58. 2ND that day was UBLA, he carried 3lbs more and beat him by a length, and with UBLA being a double figure price, it is a boost to his form despite BRAINS’ wins coming over 1f more.
database, you were correct about Classic Star being potentially well handicapped
Interesting about the young claimer, you must have talked yourself out of that one.
