After what it felt like a lifetime, I finally had a winner yesterday with the NAP Saisons D'Or winning at a drifted price of 5/1. That rounded out a very good day as the other selection drifted to 33/1 and finished 2nd so was good place money.

Sandown 6:15

Runner Jacket Trainer: Johnathan Portman

Jockey: David Probert

Form: 21

On the look of this you'd have to say the Irish raider, Cripsy Cat is the one they have to beat and as the odds would suggest it will probably be a tough task, but I think at the odds he can be taken on with RUMSTAR.

I think on both of his runs to date he has been impressive, but for different things on each run. On debut he broke very poorly and gave up a fair amount of ground to the winner who had the jump on him (must've been around 5-7 lengths) so the fact he made up that ground and lost by a head was eyecatching to a horse who had the experience advantage.  At Bath where he won by 3.75L he just showed his class and he is a level above that kind of race. That time he broke well and got a prominent position and won it on the bridle, without even trying. Based on his run at Windsor on debut this stiff 5f could be right up his street as he powered home that day, so it will be interesting to see how he copes, as I think he could relish the uphill track.

You could probably find value in the w/o fav market, but I'll be going for a straight win.

Sandown 6:50

Runner Jacket Trainer: Jim Goldie

Jockey: Paul Mulrennan

Form: 5029-6

EUCHEN GLEN is 2/2 at Sandown, with both of those wins coming during last years season where he proved to be still very useful at the age of 8. I think this is a very interesting bit of placing by Jim Goldie to put him in a race at this track over 2m on this specific day. The reason why I say that is because he won on this day last year in the Brigadier Gerard Stakes, which is the race which follows this, so it's strange that they've opted for this race than trying to retain his crown over a trip which he has been seen to good effect over the last couple of years. He does stay 2m, but he hasn't been seen over this far for a fair few years now, but the form of Jim Goldie and the fact they are bringing him all the way to Sandown from Scotland suggests they are confident of a big performance. He has already had a blow out this season, so should be fitter for that run in March and at the odds in a race which is competitive I think he is a decent EW shot.

Sandown 7:25

Runner Jacket Trainer: Sir Michael Stoute

Jockey: Ryan Moore

Form: /1111-

Though there are some very eyecatching names in this race, I don't think it's going to be that competitive as daft as that might sound. On paper it looks a tough race but the fact that Addeybb is more than likely using this as a prep run for Royal Ascot, and the same applies to Lord Glitters, with the two Godolphin horses potentially not up to the same level as this field I think it is a match between BAY BRIDGE and Mostahdaf.

I'm deciding to side with the former as this horse still looks to be on the up for a master trainer who does well with this type of horse. It's pretty much a cliche at this point but he does look like a typical Sir Michael Stoute improver as he gets older and more mature. Sir Michael has won this race 11x in the past, so he knows what time of day it is and what type of horse is required to win this. Bay Bridge has some decent form in the book with his most recent run being franked a couple times already this season. The runner-up, Majestic Dawn won with plenty in hand on the weekend just gone and the French horse in 3rd has won a Listed race producing an RPR of 114. Sir Michael had said this race as been the plan for some time, which is always good to hear as chances are this isn't the be all and end all for a few of these.

The favourite is the right horse at the top of the market as he's got a run under his belt already and has a progressive profile. However, I'm not totally sold on his form and his rating of 118 seems a little inflated. I know rating doesn't really mean much in a stakes races like this but it makes him look better than what he has shown and I think he can be taken on.

Haydock 3:10

Trainer: Tom Clover Runner Jacket

Jockey: Jack Mitchell

Form: 6946-1

With a lot of pace and front runners in this race, I think it could be set up perfectly for this C&D specialist, CELSIUS.

He is a horse who can be keen through his races, but also a horse who stays the 5f extremely well so the faster they go the better it will be for him. With Modular Magic and Sampers Seven in the lienup, it's hard to envisage anything but a good gallop being set, which should set it up for the closers.

He's not a great price at around 4/1 so not the EW play I was looking for, but a small win bet still looks good.

2 from tracker. Can’t see prices lasting so with my last US race done I’m putting these on and hopefully worth the wait.

Double and single in the 7.25

Florina…7.00. 7/4 (beat by a nostril last time and should improve. Someone tipped it last time and was mighty unlucky so hopefully gets its nose in front.
    Brigadier Gerard G3
Mostahdaf…7.25. 6/5 (NAP/Nb lots of ability and really like this horse but he never seems to go full tilt yet wins easily as he did last time. He has a fitness edge on most. Jim Crowley on board as usual.

Wasn’t going to touch other tracker horse at 8/13 but Crispy Cat at 5/6 Bet365 now is good for multiples so I’ll be taking him in a Trixie with my other 2.
Runs in the 6.15 Sandown. He was just beaten by Blackbeard last run ,Blackbeard being one of favourites for Coventry and Norfolk stakes
