To say I was hit for 6 on Friday would be an understatement, as all 3 racing tips were well beaten.
Hidalgo De L'isle was out stayed on the run-in, the trip of a mile looked too short for Fox Tail which I got wrong as I thought it would suit and Tathmeen didn't place.
I'm not sure if anyone caught the Tathmeen race but from what I saw he looked to be travelling not too badly and the jockey stopped riding or at least rode with about 5% effort. It's comical as the stewards say nothing and most jockeys are poor at disguising it.
Saturday is a competitive day of racing and I haven't had much time to study the cards therefore I only have the sole selection.
It would be wrong of me to fire up multiple selections without a proper study so I'll not be doing it. Apologies in advance.
Iwilldoit 10/1 EW – 3:00 Warwick
This is a cracking race and to be honest, I'm looking more forward to this race than the two big races on show tomorrow in the Conti chase and Lanzarote handicap hurdle.
Most bookmakers offer 4 places in this race and I'm surprised to see the Sam Thomas trained Iwilldoit priced up as big as 10/1. He's a cracking each-way play in this race, well in my opinion anyway.
Current conditions at Warwick are heavy and to be safe I'd rather have my money on a guaranteed stayer and Iwilldoit ticks most of the boxes for me..
Now a 10-year-old, Iwilldoit has been absent since winning the 2021 Welsh Grand National. Being that long of the track normally would put me off, however, on this occasion, it does not as he's previously won off a 226-day break before.
Iwilldoit remains unexposed as a marathon stayer over this kind of distance and is still on an attractive enough mark I feel to be competitive in this.
