REEVES (3.30) takes a drop in class and should provide Robert Cowell with a winner on a rare visit to Catterick.
The top weight has dropped 5lb in the ratings since running third to Richard Hannon's Brian Epstein at Musselburgh in June and Reeves would be a good thing if re-capturing the dash of his early-season run at York when chasing home Space Blues. Keith Dalgleish saddles two and Friendly Advice should go close if the ground remains on the fast side.
BE PERFECT (5.45), so consistent at this level, runs the track well and is just preferred to Restive in the 1m 4f lady riders' handicap.
At Leicester, SIX STRINGS (4.55) is out again quickly after a most unlucky second at Musselburgh four days ago. Ali Rawlinson was sitting with his hands full but had nowhere to go from the two-furlong marker. This is a tougher race but Mick Appleby's horses are flying at present.
Over the sticks at Kelso's twilight meeting, CARRY ON (4.25) should get favourite backers off to a flying start. Donald McCain's four-year-old tackles some decent older horses but a reproduction of his second to Alan King's The Blues Master at Bangor should be good enough to see off Irish raider Wooster and Raashdy.
