MAKE IT RAIN (3.00) hasn't been done any favours with a very wide draw but still rates at bet at Lingfield.
This 1m 2f handicap should be dominated by progressive three-year-olds and Make it Rain fits the bill. She found Sir Mark Prescott's Glen Force too strong at Nottingham last time but had earlier shown a decisive turn of speed to floor Rideson readily at Wolverhampton. Make It Rain also notched a victory at Kempton last season, so may well be a better horse on artificial surfaces. Stall 13 is a negative but otherwise she ticks all the boxes.
The 1m 2f handicap for lady amateur riders at Nottingham won't be everyone's cup of tea but I have been keeping an eye out for the reappearance of RING OF GOLD (4.10). Mick Easterby's gelding ran a fine third to the James Fanshawe-trained Bonneval in a novice stakes on heavy ground at Redcar at the end of August. Ring Of Gold then stepped into handicap company at Beverley but forfeited several lengths at the start when dropped in from his very wide stall. He ran on from an impossible position into fourth behind course specialist Zihaam and today's jockey Joanna Mason is more than capable.
