With Rizzle unfortunately unable to post on tomorrow’s racing thread, Cairnzy steps in with 2 selections for Wednesday Racing action.
First of all, It was great to start off on the thread with a winning NAP last Saturday. Goldspur managed to come out on top in a 3-way scrap to the line. He drifted out to 5/1 at one point and I admit at one point I was worried. However, the money came late and he justified support on the day and that’s all that matters.
Kempton 5:30 – Harb 3/1
I’m happy enough to draw a line through Harbs previous run at Chester. He finished 7th on that occasion on turf, however, he did get upset and reared in the stalls hence why I’m willing to draw a line through it and give him another chance.
He returns to the all-weather tomorrow in which he has better form, finishing runner up and second at Chelmsford over 6f. If Crowley can get him to post calm and both break and settle well he should definitely be thereabouts under top weight.
I think the main danger could come from Claim the stars who’s actually previously trained by Mark Johnston but runs tomorrow for Ian Williams. He’s consistent enough over 6f but has to bounce back from a poor run at Doncaster after finishing 19th from 20 runners.
Bath 3:05 – True Icon 9/4
There is surely more to come from the Haggas trained True Icon who posted a much better effort last time out at Nottingham after finishing 2nd.
That form is by far the best on offer and with the Haggas yard smashing out 14 winners in the last 2 weeks it’s hard to look past her.
The Clive Cox trained Rum Cocktail is another open to progress. She was upped from 5f to 6f last time out at Newmarket. She got her head in front that day however she just about hung on. She carries a penalty for that victory and I’m hoping that’s enough to play into True Icons favour.

Thanks DC. Horse was a bit keen and jumped the last fence poorly but got home in the end after a good fight. You are a star DC.

Yeah got away with it a bit. Probably worth following next time out too even with a hike in the weights as there’s plenty more to come.
Ew singles and double for interest on an awful looking days racing.
