First of all, I was delighted when asked by the guys at MFT to cover the Randox Grand National Guide this year but was even more delighted to call the eventual winner alongside my good pal Rizzel.
It's a gruelling old study covering 40 horses but it all worked out in the end!
Rizz is feeling a tad unwell, so I've been asked to cover tomorrow's racing. Hopefully, Rizz will be back tomorrow evening for Wednesday's racing for you all.
Ottoman Fleet 15/8 – Newmarket 3:35
The card in itself at Newmarket tomorrow is actually quite good and sees the return of some nice sorts. Charlie Appleby’s Ottoman Fleet was the one that caught my eye in the bet365 Earl Of Sefton Stakes.
Most of this field hasn't been seen since last year so I feel Ottoman fleet has a clear fitness advantage over the rest of this field. He returns to the UK race-fit following three nice efforts within Group races at Meydan.
Although not winning either of the 3 races out in Meydan over today's distance he has only beaten roughly a length on each of the 3 occasions and all 3 runs were solid efforts in my opinion.
He seems to enjoy it at Newmarket with 2 victories from 3 starts. Tomorrow looks like the ideal opportunity for the Appleby runner to win on a return to home soil under jockey William Buick.
