Sunday's racing was top notch and it didn't quite go to plan for me and my selections. Two short-priced winners and two placed horses was how the day ended, so not the worst.
Monday's racing isn't anywhere near the level of yesterday, which is to be expected, so I've only got one horse up for today.
Kempton 8:30
There are a couple of experienced handicappers in this race in the form of Jewel In My Crown and Pretty Sweet who both have their chances in this race, but I think it's better to opt for a horse who could have more to offer.
My dart has landed on the Sir Michael Stoute trained PICUAL. Though the form probably isn't the level required to win this, I think a handicap mark of 80 could be lenient and the 2lb rise she received for her recent run though it was harsh, I think she can handle that as she suffered a nightmare passage.
She travelled like the best horse in the race at Sandown but was stuck behind a wall of horses. It definitely wasn't Ryan Moore's best ride as every time he looked for a gap it closed, and before you knew it the winner had the jump and had a very big gap which would've been fairly impossible to lose from. When getting clear air she stayed on well and based on pedigree the extra furlong should be up her street and be able to bring out further improvement. The long Kempton straight should also help, especially with the cutaway, which should allow her to get a clear run-through.
She's raced at Kempton once before where she finished 6th/12 on debut, so it's still not a guarantee that she handles this surface, but based on her Newcastle 2nd on her second run, it gives me optimism that she will be fine.
Being a lightly raced 3yo with a nice pedigree racing off bottom weight and running for an in-form trainer, I think she offers good value against a favourite who is definitely too short in my eyes.

Woodbine held the first leg of there “Triple Crown’ last night…never knew they had one!
Watched a few replays there and they certainly appreciated the Queen with the presenting of there racing last night.
Staying in Canada,Ontario to be exact for a couple to add to the above for a Trixie or doubles.
GYTOs Nap ‘Bumpy’ was 11/8 and looks the pick but now as short as 4/5.
