PEERLESS PERCY (4.30) has been found a gilt-edged opening in the 1m 4f handicap at Musselburgh on Sunday.

On a card lacking quality, the Michael Dodds-trained gelding need only to repeat his recent course and distance second to Smart Lass to be bang in the firing line. One Last Hug is up another two furlongs on the back of his Ayr victory, while Barney Bullet edged out Lizzie Loch here in early July.

HILLGROVE ANGEL (4.00) is worth an each-way dabble stepping up to 1m 6f in another Class 6 handicap.

The grey was settled same way off the pace over 12 furlongs here 11 days ago and probably made up his ground too quickly, briefly hitting the front over a furlong out. Unsurprisingly, his run flattened out and Hillgrove Angel was a spent force in third behind Smart Lass and Peerless Percy. A more circumspect ride should see him go close.

Donnachies Girl cannot be faulted for consistency in this grade and supporters of Alistair Whillans’ mare can expect another bold show. Her second to Mr Chua at Chester was made to look even better when the winner scored again at Lingfield last week.

The 5f contest for Class 6 sprinters is another tight affair. The Defiant has terrific early speed but has been running out of gas at the business end. He was won over course and distance but is in danger of setting up the race for recent course victor AMAZING ALBA (2.55). She should be able to sit handy before pouncing late, with another sharp sort, Indian Pursuit, likely to help force the pace.

PRIMO’S COMET (3.30) isn’t well drawn in the Class 5 sprint but Jim Goldie’s course winner will probably be tucked in for his customary late thrust. He couldn’t quite peg back Militia here 11 days ago but another big effort is on the cards.

Division two of the Class 6 mile handicap may fall to ELIXSOFT (5.30). Karen Tutty’s mare lost out in a photo at Ripon five days ago and beat subsequent dual winner Ayr Poet on a visit to Hamilton in July. She is nicely berthed in stall three. Travel Lightly is on a hat-trick but is up 10lb for her latest success at Ayr.

Each Way Thief aims for horses that are likely to place in the top three at a decent price; obviously plenty win as well. You only need a few to place at decent odds in a lucky 63 or Heinz and you have made a tidy profit.

Yh I’ve watched it Az . The problem with the documentary never shows a real professional gambler . He’s just thrown in with a laptop and money and given a deadline .

The idiot betting the dogs made me laugh .
And the tennis part was the only interesting part, I never knew people did that .

    • azzthewigan 4 years ago

him who was betting on the dog was suppose to be a pro gambler and do it for a living he will soon be in the poor house he will uncle pom if that’s he’s full job

I’m recording this as I’m off out later.
All 6 are very good horses, one of the best races this year for me.
Circus maximus will put it up to them, which if any will pass him ?

    • elvis parsley 4 years ago

      France 1 UK 0.

Did anyone pick Persian king ?.
Think siskin needs to rebuild his reputation back in Ireland and come back next year.
Nothing wrong with Pinatubo run, no shame coming 2nd in this field.
      Maximus solid as usual 3rd.
