Sir Jack Yeats jumped far too poorly yesterday at Aintree to pose a threat in the Grand Sefton. He got the easy lead like expected, but didn't get into any rhythm whatsoever and the mistakes knocked the stuffing out of him and his gas tank emptied a few fences from home.
Sandown 3:15
I really do like the Veterans' Chase Series that they have, as you get to see some of your old favourite horses stay in training and pick up a nice pot or two along the way. A horse who will be a favourite of many, but would've had people tearing their hair out on more than one occasion is, SINGLEFARMPAYMENT.
I think this race could be set up perfectly for this horse. If you're into your jumps racing, then you will know how well this horse travels through his races, and when you think he's going to go on and win his races, he normally doesn't find that little extra, hence why he had so many placed efforts over the years. However, there is a couple of noticeable front runners in this race, and that should ensure a strong pace is set, which should be right up the street of Singlefarmpayment. Mr Mafia and Dancing Shadow have run from the front on many occasions and the form that Mr Mafia is in, there is no reason why they wouldn't run him in the same manner as last time where he went off from the front.
Off a mark of 132 I do think the selection is very dangerous to underestimate, and I think we could get some decent odds with this selection as he is known not to win all too often. He ran well in this race last year, where he travelled well, but the saddle slipped and that made life very difficult for the horse and jockey when jumping the last two fences. After that race he ran a couple of poor races, but then won at Ascot and then ran creditably at Cheltenham in April. His mark was dropped 2lbs for his most recent run, and that means he is 7lbs lighter than he was when contesting this race last year.
Today's ground should be spot on for him, as he seems best on good ground. Whether it'll be good ground, I'm not so sure, but if it isn't, then it won't be far off (if the weather forecast is correct). There are a few in here who would want the ground a little more testing.

Flooring Porter has become a backable price at 2/1.
Still only 6yrs old there should be more to come from him this year unlike most of his opposition today who are 8/9yrs old.
Grand Roi could be open to improvement but didn’t stay in the Coral Cup so there must be doubts he’ll stay here.
If Klassical Dream goes the stayers route he’ll take some beating, but FP will be my bet if he doesn’t.
BOL
Won’t know for sure, but looked like he’d plenty left in the tank and would have won but for falling.
My Mate Mozzie as low as 16s now for the Supreme after another impressive win.
We’ve yet to see the horses above him in the betting this season, but how many will actually turn up on the day ?

14-1 ew extra 5 places 🇫🇷
Lieutenant highway 3-45 sandown.
8-1 ew SKYBET paying 4 places.
Fatty Elliott sends this here from Ireland so hopefully thinks it’s got a squeak.
Only 3rd of 4 on debut but went off odds on so someone must think it’s got potential, and should have shaken off any green-ness now
sandlewood 3.45 looks like a good bet to me
Poly grandchamp wins 28-1 😁.
And I took 14-1 for extra places ☹️.
Wins a win I guess.
