Alan Thomson fancies a trio of fancied runners at Kelso on Monday
Kelso 2.10
STORM NELSON (2.10) can provide Sandy Thomson with another popular local success in the 3m 1f handicap hurdle which opens the seven-race card at Kelso.
His eight-year-old ran out a comfortable winner at Ayr three weeks ago and although Storm Nelson will encounter quicker ground today, he should have the measure of Michael Scudamore’s Some Chaos, a dual course winner over fences. Storm Nelson won at Ayr on a sound surface a couple of seasons ago when trained by Lucy Normile and looks progressive.

TOMORROW’S ANGEL (2.40) recorded a respectable second to The Ogle Gogle Man at Sedgefield 15 days ago and could make all the running in the 2m 6f novices’ handicap hurdle. Stuart Crawford sends over Fairyhouse fourth Bellaney Gem with an obvious shout.

Nick Alexander saddles CHANTING HILL (4.40) in the 2m 7f novices’ handicap chase and his mare appreciated good ground when scoring here over course and distance last October. Lucinda Russell went agonising close to bagging the Midlands Grand National last Saturday and Slainte Mhor can give a good account running in the colours of her dad Peter.

Well funded 3.25 Navan. Better known as a flat horse. He’s had a couple of runs over hurdles but each time it was on heavy going and been beaten out of site both times.
He might appreciate better ground and at 80/1, he could be worth an ew extra bet
