Little Big Bear returned to his best form when winning back over 6f at Haydock, the runner-up ran a huge race to get as close as she did, but she's not on the same level as the O'Brien horse.
Garrus was too far off the pace and if I'm honest, though Ryan Moore gave him a bad ride I don't think it wouldn't change much as Art Power also returned to his best form and arguably putting in a career-best at the Curragh.
Saint-Cloud 2:45 – Nashwa EVS (2pt)
You won't be getting great odds about Nashwa over in France, but that's for a reason. She is the best filly in the race by quite some margin and if she's ready to fire on seasonal reappearance, it'll take a very smart one to improve to beat her.
She has been a very good horse over the last couple of years, winning a couple of Group 1's along the way, including one in France at Longchamp. She seems to handle any ground, but her best has come on Good to Firm so the forecast nice weather in France should dry the ground out nicely in time for Nashwa. She is a top-tier filly, and this race doesn't look to be anywhere near the same level of horses which she was competing against last year.
On Racing Post ratings, the German horse, India has a good chance of turning her over, but I refuse to believe the form of those races is anywhere near the same level as Nashwa's.
Curragh 2:45 – Bay Bridge 9/4 (2pt)
It's frustrating how both of the selections are running at the same time, but hopefully, you can manage to watch both on the TV or the phone. I tipped up Bay Bridge on seasonal reappearance and it was obvious that he blew his own chances away by running too keenly. If he Kingscote manages to settle him, I think he has an ace chance of winning another Group 1.
He was the best horse in the race at Longchamp a month ago, that doesn't even cross my mind, but his keenness is becoming a problem. He is now a 5yo, so should be mentally mature and be understanding his job, which so many of Sir Michael Stoute's do. He might've been a tad fresh as it was his first run in 197 days, and his fitness might not've been 100%, but with them now sending him here it sends signals that they think he is going to run a huge race and put it up to the French raider.
The fast ground should be fine for him, he has won on good ground in the past and his pedigree suggests he'll handle anything. Vadeni did beat him at Sandown last year, but he was receiving 10lbs from Bay Bridge that day, and he did pull too hard, so it wasn't a true showing of his ability.
This is a big moment for Richard Kingscote, and I'm hoping he can get it right tactically as he has screwed me over a couple of times recently, but now he's the main man when Ryan Moore is occupied, he's got to deliver on the big stage.
Nice to get a couple of winners yesterday. Well done to all the other winners too.
Onto today
2.15 Lovejoy 14/1 ew 4 places
A 3yr old taking on older horses but ran really well lto over 7f but I think the drop back to 6f will suit even better.
Wide open race
2.45 Luxembourg 10/3
Has beaten Vadeni before so if he can find his form no reason why he can’t do it again and is much better value.
With it to be another warm sunny day the ground will be firming up which I don’t think will suit Bay Bridge.
I’ll skip the 3.15 but I’d probably lean towards Honey Girl.
3.50 Jackie Oh 16/1 ew 3 places
It will be a major shock if the fav doesn’t win but Jackie Oh looks a good ew alternative at the odds.
