Racing tips: Mintnthat is the one to be on in the opener at Hamilton

Missed The Cut ran below par at Deauville yesterday and I think that was a mixture of being up in class and the softer ground which definitely looked softer than good to soft which the Racing Post was claiming it was. There was turf flying everywhere and I think he didn't quite handle those conditions.

Hamilton 2:15

MINTNTHAT got off the mark at the seventh time of asking at Ayr just over two weeks ago. With him still being lightly raced and still a 3yo, more progress is definitely to come and I think the way this race could unfold could suit his style. They made the running last time around, and that seemed to work wonders in a race which benefitted from being on the pace as it was tactical and with the chance of a lack of pace in this race, Mintnthat could have the same scenario today.

Every time I try and work out the pace in the race, the complete opposite happens and a horse who has previously never run from the front before will have a change of tactics and take my selection on for the lead. Hopefully, today all the others in the race will sit off Mintnthat and allow him to do his own thing in front. Looking through the other horses in this race, they all seem to break away slowly from the gates, so if that's the case then it's hard to see how they will force the pace.

Every horse in this race is very exposed other than Mintnthat who has been running consistently well this year. If he can't beat this field off an 8lb higher mark it would be disappointing.
