It was always a risk going for American Flag in the French 2000 Guineas due to his running style from the back but I did think he'd have enough class to win. Unfortunately, he got going too late and couldn't quite bridge the gap, eventually finishing behind a horse he convincingly beat the time before.
The French 1000 Guineas was an easy winner for Blue Rose Cen who is a superb filly over a mile, she is so genuine and though she didn't manage to front run this time it didn't matter as she was just too classy for that field.
Compiegne 1:05 – Might I 11/8 (2pt B365)
With nothing from the UK races catching my eye on Monday, I've decided to have a crack at the Listed Hurdles race over at France at Compeigne. There is a couple of recognisable names, none other than Might I, who is trained by Harry Fry and usually ridden by Lorcan Murtagh, but has Felix De Giles on board for today's race.
This doesn't a particularly strong race, with most of the French runners not being able to get close to Might I on his best form, and I think his recent runs in England make him difficult to oppose for this race today. He was second at Cheltenham in January at the Trial's meeting, and the form of that has worked out well with Punctuation (4th) winning at Aintree since, Hystery Bere (5th) has won on chase debut, and you have other decent pieces of form further down the field like Camprond who finished in the places at the Cheltenham Festival. Might I then ran at the Festival in March and finished 4th in the Martin Pipe, where the trip was probably too much for him, he travelled nicely into the race but couldn't go with the three ahead of him. The winner of that race went on to finish 3rd in the Grade 1 over 3m at Aintree and the 3rd finished a close 2nd in another big field handicap at Aintree.
He seems best on soft ground, so the heavy ground he'll race on at Compeigne should be fine for him. He has one of the best in the business for French jump racing on top of him in Felix de Giles, and I think he should be tough to beat if repeating one of his last two runs.
La Cheneviere would be my idea of the main danger. She gets weight from every horse in the race and put in a good performance last time out, but found one too good for her on the day. That was a career best by her, she is one to keep an eye out for.w

Without ANY Non runners etc N.Y Anthem was 1/9 and went off to romp at 2/17?
