Annoying to have a blank day on Saturday with a couple of them who arguably should've won/got much closer. Mitbaahy being the one which got away with David Egan opting to hug the rail, which I was hoping he wasn't going to do, where he met trouble in running. Young Fire was the one who had loads of running to give but was simply too far back. Danny Tudhope gave him a stinker of a ride, not the first time he's done that with a tip I've stuck up on the thread, but he is a horse in top form and one who will win soon enough. The rest were beat fair and square and I had no qualms, as they weren't good enough on the day.

The horse in this race who could improve past these exposed handicappers is NOBLE ANTHEM. Archie Watson sends his lightly raced 3yo colt of Starspangledbanner on a long trip from Lambourn to Ayr, which speaks volumes of what they think of his chances.
The form of his recent Newcastle 4th has been franked by the winner (Eldar Eldarov) who went on to win a competitive Royal Ascot Group 2. The fifth horse from Newcastle recently won and some decent runs have been from horses in behind as well. I wouldn't get too carried away with the form of this race but based on that and the form from his win at Thirsk, he deserves to be the market favourite.
He won nicely at Thirsk over a mile, winning by 2.5L, and the form from that race looks okay as well, with horses running to a decent level in their runs after. The fact he won that race with plenty in hand shows he might be better than his handicapping mark of 85 and the manner in which he ran on strongly would bring plenty of hope that 10f will be better suited to him, even though he didn't quite show it at Newcastle (was always going to be a tough race to get close to Eldar Eldarov anyway).
Getting the weight-for-age allowance is always a big help, and against older horses who have shown what they're capable of, it would be disappointing not to see him win this. Hopefully, Paul Mulrennan doesn't overcomplicate the ride and keeps things nice and simple.
