Racing tips: Karl Burke can ping in another 2yo winner in the shape of Heathcliff’s Girl

It's been a while since I've had a clean sweep so yesterday's 4/4 was very nice. Granted they weren't amazing odds, but if you put them in an Acca it would've returned around 35/1 with the drifted prices, so hopefully, some of you did. I've not picked out short-priced horses for today's tips, but a couple who should offer good EW value.

Lingfield 3:30

I actually think this is a decent race for the grade, and it looks ultra-competitive, which isn't ideal for putting a selection in, but I think the market has totally forgotten about LITTLE PRAYER.

Her two previous runs suggest she is in the grips of the handicapper, but that is nonsense in my opinion. She is a horse who is much better on an artificial surface than on turf. She has won on turf, but that was last year as a 2yo in a maiden which in hindsight was weak, with the horses in behind not amounting to much, proven by the runner-up who is now rated in the high 40s. She seems to appreciate Lingfield as a track as her best runs have come here and I believe 7f is the optimal trip as she can break slow and often runs on strongly in her races.

She managed to win on seasonal reappearance and did it in good style. That was a Class 5, so she has to prove that she is effective in a Class 4, but I think at the prices she has to be given a chance. Her Lingfield runs read 2,2,3,1 so based on that she could also be a good bet for a place accumulator if that is something you're into.

Nottingham 2:15

Another each-way selection is HEATHCLIFF'S GIRL who might not be an EW price come the time of racing as I think she will be very well supported.

There was a bit of market support for her on debut, where she didn't exactly show up, but when the vibes are strong from the Karl Burke yard, they have to be noted. She ran well the time after at Beverley, when not getting the gaps required which happens often at that track. Considering she was an eye-catcher in that race, it doesn't surprise me they sent her to a Class 2 race at York, won by The Platinum Queen. She did finish last and appeared to be struggling, but as a result of that run, she has been handed a low handicap mark to start off her career in nurseries, being able to run off 62.

Karl Burke has a very good gauge of how good his 2yo's are as he has many good ones in his stable this year. He should know what level of horse he is dealing with here, so if the market vibes are strong again, I'd be confident of a big run. I think she has shown enough in her runs to date to suggest she is better than a mark of 62 and I make her a great EW bet in this.
