ZABEEL STAR(4.45) stands out as a cracking bet in the concluding 1m 4f handicap at Beverley.
Karen McLintock's gelding was collared close home over two miles at Newcastle 19 days ago, so this shorter distance should prove ideal. Zabeel Star habitually forfeits lengths at the stalls with a slow start but still remains competitive.
Likely favourite Vampish scored over course and distance at 20-1 just 12 days ago and will be fancied to follow up. However, it was a pretty modest contest and Zabeel Star is the value.
EL PICADOR (3.45) represents a tasty each-way wager in the 1m 2f handicap. The Keith Dalgleish horses were in fine form at Ayr yesterday and ElPicador will strip sharper for his recent outing over a shorter trip at Wolverhampton. He won over this distance for previous handler Sir Michael Stoute and scored for his new handler over hurdles at Musselburgh last winter. With some firms offering four places, El Picador should be bet accordingly.
VELMA (2.15) was an unlucky loser here 12 days ago but is capable of going one better for Chris Fairhurst. She had to be switched to deliver her challenge and would have caught Old Harbour (runs 2.45) in another stride.
Chep 4-35 David’s beauty 9-2.
1.15 not on your Nellie 18/1 places 4 each way
dandy story 12.45 ew Well Don all winner
Crazy drift on Bomb Proof there? Took it a double at 4/6 with a single on Lightness (3.15)too but best odds gets 6/4. After winning a Class 3 lto I couldn’t see it being beat. Wasn’t going to put up such a short price but just goes to show a big drift isn’t always correct as that move looked yard/jockey dependent to me.
GL all and well done winners yesterday. 👍😆
