Racing Tips: Intricacy can take step forward from debut

With Rizzle unable to cover tomorrow's racing tips I've been asked to step in and cover.

Only two AW meetings tomorrow in regards to the UK side of things and as expected it's on the pretty poor quality side of things.

Probably best to either keep your money in your pocket or if you are having a punt keep the stakes small as the quality and consistency aren't there at this sort of level.

Intricacy 11/10 – 4:15 Wolverhampton

My first selection is my NAP of the day. I stuck this horse in my tracker after its debut.

Intricacy a 750,000 euro yearling ran very pleasing on debut, beaten around half a length by a more experienced sort.

Intricacy ran a little green on debut ( to be expected ) but when the penny dropped he did run quite nicely and was pretty unlucky on the day.

Connections will be hoping he comes on from the debut run and you'd expect him to know more about the job at hand tomorrow in a race that's more than winnable if normal progress in made.

11/10 I think is a fair price and I wouldn't get involved with this selection if it drops anything below 10/11.

Charlie appleby runs a debut runner in the shape of first sight. Charlie is your man for getting one ready for a first outing and if his runner wasn't in the field you'd probably get my selection around 4/6 right now.

Sky-blue expert 7/2 – 13:43 Southwell

My last selection of the day comes from Southwell and Sky-blue expert I think holds some nice value at 7/2.

I'm happy connections have opted to step this one back up to a mile as he's been pretty unlucky on the previous two runs.

His last win came at Kempton over 7f in November where he hit the line hard which resulted in connections choosing to step him up to the mile. He finished 3rd over the mile at Chelmsford which wasn't a poor run by any means.

I was surprised that connections dropped him back to the 7f for his last two starts because he's a horse who relishes the mile.

He rattled home too late at Chelmsford a few days ago after leaving himself too much to do and I think this step back up to a mile is the right move and should hopefully see him get a better run of things in the business end.
