It was a good start to the new week with two winners from three selections, with both winners winning in good style. The 50/1 pick drifted out to 150/1 and was in trouble a long way from home, but I did say there was a higher chance of that happening than anything else, at least the other two won to ensure a profit on the day.
Warwick 3:45
Having chase experience is a big benefit when coming against horses who have a lack of it or none at all. Still, I can't take my eyes away from HORIZON D'AINAY who is making his chase debut in this race, and though we haven't seen much of him, I think he could be more than capable of running a big race.
It's very eye-catching that connections are jumping straight to fences in his career which has only seen him run four times in total. That instantly says to me that they think he is a chaser and has shown some very good pieces of work at home as they aren't messing around and spending any longer over hurdles, which he seemed okay over. Those three runs over hurdles have allowed him to get a handicap mark and use that as a starting point over fences, and I think they believe he could be well-handicapped off a mark of 109.
Dan Skelton has a very good strike rate at this course, as I think it's one of his more local tracks and is a venue where he tends to target and have a fair amount of runners at. In the last five seasons he has had a 24% SR, which includes a 30% SR with horses over fences, so clearly knows what type of horse is required to run well around here. It's a big statement as well to send a debutante around Warwick as it is a stiff jumping test, so that could also be a tip in itself.
Fergus Gillard takes the rides, but that's not a concern as usual jockey Harry Skelton can't ride in this Conditional Jockeys-only race.
Keep an eye on the market as any strong vibes could suggest we're in store for a big run.

This has to be a cracking each way bet at the current odds.
CD winner who has been performing pretty well of late. His 2nd of 12 at Ayr last time out was a particularly good one considering he was racing out wide throughout, whereas the winner (who he finished just over a length behind) had the run of the race.
The jockey is a decent one who takes off a valuable 3lbs, which basically puts him back on his last winning mark. The horse has generally been facing better opposition than what he’ll encounter today with this representing a class drop compared to a lot of his previous races.
He is a consistent type who will most definitely give you a run for your money and will be there or thereabouts come the finishing line.

Julie Camacho is having a pretty good season for a small stable. She sends 3 to Newcastle today but nothing to Redcar where her stables are based. But she’s also send one down to Southwell 5.30 Secret Equity. Never won on all weather but wasn’t beaten far last time at Newcastle. This is more of an observation than a tip but could be worth an ew extra small stakes.
