TRAVELLER (2.50) is well worth a solid each-way punt on his return to Wolverhampton.
He was forced to go the long way round from a wide draw when staying on gamely into second spot behind warm favourite Colonel Slade. Traveller was sent to Newcastle for his latest start, failing to find an extra gear in fifth behind the William Haggas-trained Swansdown. Back at Dunstall Park, the five-year-old can take advantage of the inside berth granted better luck in running.
Haggas saddles odds-on Minhaaj in the opening sprint and his filly finished a neck in front of The Bell Conductor when runner-up on debut at York. She didn't shape quite so well next time at Newmarket and AUCHTERARDER (12.50) may be the better option. Mark Johnston's filly won convincingly on debut at Beverley in May but wasn't seen again until chasing home The Bell Conductor at Southwell 11 days ago. Her chance was compromised by missing the kick and a slicker start will see the well-named daughter of Gleneagles in a better light.

still a pocket change bet but PRINCESS HARLEY returns to her seemingly preferred track. 3 nice run outs here this time last year, she runs off 60, she was 2nd off 67, then won off 67 then 3rd off 69. the paper form of her win doesn’t look inspiring but her 2nd isnt too bad whilst BISHOP was only on for the win and is on tonight.
not raced over this distance since and at 33s, or as my old mate would say, DOUBLE CARPET, for interest i’ll indulge.
sitting at 5/2 makes me weary of the fav in the next race, Jason Hart on board for Johnston which isn’t unusual whilst his normal trainer JJ Quinn has one in the race, so perhaps he is out to win but not for me. Although 2nd fav normally would have Josie Gordon on but doesn’t which also puts me off.
think i’ll have a quid on VINTAGE POLLY and GO WELL SPICY for interest in the 1745
