Racing Tips: Hat-Trick Target for the Wulf at Newbury

It's great to have Thommo back on the site for this week while Rizzel is on holiday, here are his best bets for Tuesday's racing in the UK.

Newbury 7.15

BEOWULF (7.15) has struck form with a vengeance and can complete a summer hat-trick in this 1m 2f handicap.

The son of Camelot has been something of a slow burner for Ed Walker but had little trouble landing the odds at Ffos Las three weeks ago, never looking in trouble.

A 7lb rise makes life a little tougher but the runner-up at Ffos Las, French Quest, has since hosed up at Bath.

Musselburgh 4.25

GREENGAGE has held her form exceptionally well through the summer, scoring four times for Tristan Davidson, and the mare has been found another good opening in the 1m 4f.

She chased home William Haggas’s warm order Midraar at Wolverhampton last time and will welcome drying conditions. Arch Moon shaped okay when returning from a wind procedure at York, running fifth to Sharpcliff, and this looks a tad easier.

Blistering Barney pipped Glencora at Leicester on a slick surface last month and although the runner-up made little impression at Sandown on Sunday, the five-year-old should be involved.

Salisbury 6.35

BRASCA scored here over 12 furlongs back in April, edging out Dreamweaver in a tight finish. Ralph Beckett’s gelding was slightly hampered at a crucial stage when a running-on third to Dark Jedi at Ripon last month and that is a solid piece of form.

Brasca scored by an easy six lengths when tackling this trip at Chelmsford City last September and is preferred to C’est No Mour, another course winner.
