It was nice to actually see a winner, but the day was dampened by a poor return to racing by Cachet. Rogue Lightning, however, put in a nice performance to land a first Class 1 win. He travelled nicely into the race and stayed on strongly, he has been progressing nicely since connections decided to drop him back in trip.

Worcester 2:40 – Hang In There 11/4 (1pt)

Worcester is expecting a lot of rain so the ground will more than likely end up being soft, which isn't a good sign for the majority of horses in this race. The one who will handle it the best is Hang In There, and when you combine that with his recent form, I think there's little to be worried about.

Hang In There ran a good third in the Market Rasen Summer Plate, which I've said on previous threads that I think that is good form for the summer jumpers. Courtland was my selection in that race that day, he finished second, and I put him up recently where he won at Worcester in very good fashion, so the form is indeed looking strong. Hang In There managed to win next time out as well, and though he didn't win by a big margin, that was arguably over a trip on the short side for him these days, so the return to 2m 4f on ground which will be quite testing is a big plus.

His current handicap mark is still within reach despite him going up a few pounds for his recent win, as he has managed to win off a mark of 143 on five different occasions, four over fences and once over hurdles, and when you put in Joe Anderson's 5lb claim, he is definitely still on a workable mark. I think Joe's claim is very handy today as well as he takes 5lbs off the heavy 12 stone weight that he would've had to carry.

Missed the 1st one recoba, they were about to load as you posted it ☹️

Put a couple of million on the 4-6 for interest though 👍

My 2 million must have scared them, it’s now 1-5 🤣.

Gave the rest up to 10 lengths then won as he liked really, strange goings on indeed…

      You had 8 minutes 14 seconds Elvis I timed it! 😉 😋
Posted and by time got back to get ready to watch Blazingboyblu race it was 6/4 and then something got pulled and after it won I was flicking about waiting on the Slews Tiz Wiz and extremely crazy stuff going on?
      Went off 1/16 Skybet!
Paddy Power had 1/50 for a few minutes 😂.
Bet365 best on at 1/6 so a VERY stupid price and I was going to post if anyone wants to have at it they were offering 4/7 way longer than others online but jumped down to 1/5.
Was a perfectly timed run by jockey on defending champ Blazingboyblu. 👏

There was a winning Yankee from they 6 in there but 2/4 in the Yankee with 11/4 and 3/1 winning and take that any early morning of the week.

Well done again to any winners .

Onwards to tomorrows crud! 😉 👉

Last seen finishing 8th in the Brittania at royal Ascot in june, his neck 2nd to marhaba ya sanafi in march looks particularly interesting.

This meeting is the re-arranged meeting that was abandoned at gowran on Saturday.
Jessie Harrington has won it for the past 2 years and has 3 in it this year all with a chance. Jockey bookings suggest Village Voice is the No1 and with the amount of rain we had yesterday it will benefit VV and I would also make her the No1.
But I’m taking a chance that first time cheekpieces will help AS concentrate more. Lto she was leading Red Riding Hood at the 1f pole but seemed to lose her focus and was pipped on the line.
VV will be tough to beat but I just hope the headgear can make the difference for AS

two horse race at the prices, and i’ll happy commit to laying sonja. terrible win record, and beat nothing. at the price, can find a classs 5 race with much more assurance. seems like a hope for the best backing it and that is what you want to remove when it comes to racing, guesswork.

    • recoba 1 year ago

Well I’ve done the R/forecast and laid both so I’m already counting my cash! 😉

      Best of luck gents.
Although Robyn it’s each to there own and I’ve never laid a horse, not sure about the odds when it comes to doing it either but i imagine it being a bit like backing under 1.5 or under 2 goals at the football (which is awful) but if wins you money then fair doos but seems like betting on a sport and watching hoping It’s a stinker?

    • double carpet 1 year ago

Then go find a class 5 race then and put up your selection in it instead of knocking other people’s selections. That’s not what this site is about and we can do without it.

no need to get so defensive DC. racing is a game of opinions and i gave the thread mine. if they want to stick with a long term loser such as yourself, so be it. we just saw how plug’s 5/2 4 horse race nap/nb ran…. this site is about winning money, not patting each other on the back if and when you land a winner. you can moan at me if you like but least i am not nap/nb’ing a horse who hasn’t won in 3 years, never in the sphere up against a horse bang at it…

Looking at this myself there Azz due to the 1 on the form line but the write up from various was putting me off.
looking for myself it’s USA breeding along with some horse called Galileo suggests it should be a lot better?
Course doesn’t always pan out and I’ve done a R/fc with ThePlug and DC shouts and was thinking a very speculative Hail Mary play on a combo tricast believe it or not. So since you’ve had a look too why hell not. 🙏

    Tonight’s the night! 🙏 😉

Big meeting tonight in Pennsylvania with Stakes races and G2 races. Start in N.Y nowhere near a lakeside but

Finger Lakes -R5…Color Commish 8/11 Skybet boost *****
Short but should be far to good here going by last run in 25K Allowance race.
    R6…Horse Be With You 5/4 ***+
    Horseshoe -R3….Vox 7/4 *** Various
The best horse but few decent types in here and lately seems like this track is were favourites go to get beat?
    Presque Isle Downs -R4….Closethegame Sugar 13/8 Bet365 *****
This only his 5th run and was 4th in $1 Million G2 at Kentucky last run and a Stakes winner the race before,Ortiz Jnr on board now in a 50K claiming race? So slight class drop!
    Race 7…Loyalty 4/1 **** Bet365.
‘King of Woodbine’ Kasuki Kimura (🇯🇵) comes from Canada to take the reins here. Won a good Stakes race on reappearance then a G3 last time so should be primed for this. Favourite with Ortiz Jnr who’s smashing it is the danger so take a R/fc but if he was on Loyalty I think prices be reversed?
It’s 9/4 with almost all others so had to phone a friend to get it on Bet365 as such a difference in price can’t be left alone
    R8…Starship Empire 3/1 ****

GL all and well done to the winners 👌

Hoping it’s opposite stuff now with that start and early going BUT that right there with Color Commish is nothing short of a disgrace? 😂
Off 2/9 1/8 USA and humped?? Jockey bursts out and then pulls it back but wether he wanted to stalk or not I’d love to hear what happened with it to finish last probably…flicked off the streaming at the corner it was solid gone!

Horseshoe “where favourites go to get beat” as i said out to 3/1 and a Wesley Ward maiden donkey form wise goes favourite and pi$$ed it?

Should stuck to Presque Isles Downs itself but still time for that to be a shit show. Lol

      Onwards.

wont be touching either mate. side note, you’ve been a good addition to the thread for over 5 years, but it was necessary to advise others to avoid Grand Roi nothing personal.

Regarding your question, I do not follow Irish racing, you’ll find horse racing is a vast sport and the more of a niche you can carve out, the more profitable you can become. Personally, tipping a 9/4 shot in a 47-65, effectively one of the worst races you can get, is not for me, given I won’t be looking at rivals, to back or lay is not something I’ll be advising this time.

ZEPHRON does at least look a better proposition to Grand Roi but I’d have sooner backed Mr Blobby trying to clamber over the obstacles in full regalia. Denis Cullen isn’t the best trainer, seemingly worse on the flat too with just 1 flat winner from his last 50 combined entrants. Big Bad Billy Lee was on last time, now “jocked off” for Oisin who is bizarrely at Listowel for 4 rides. Given Oisin has never ridden for Dennis, I am not taking it as a positive, more a spare ride with a hint of a chance, where the bookies can use Oisin as an excuse to attract people at the top of the market.
