TOO DARN HOT (3.35) is turned out pretty quickly on the back of his battling second to resilient Telecaster in the Dante Stakes at York, but John Gosden clearly feels his colt has recovered sufficiently to make the trip across to the Curragh for the Irish 2000 Guineas.
Unbeaten in four starts as a juvenile at seven furlongs and a mile, Too Darn Hot found the extended 1m 2f trip on the Knavesmire stretching his stamina to breaking point. Aidan O'Brien launches a five-pronged attack, headed by Qipco 2000 Guineas winner Magna Grecia, but Too Darn Hot looked very special last season.
VINTAGER (1.55) is interesting at Goodwood. He was below par on a couple of occasions before bouncing back under a big weight at Newmarket earlier this month when a close third to Elector.
The Amix Silver Bowl at Haydock is one of the biggest betting three-year-old handicaps of the season so far and with some firms offering five places the bet is Alan King's Aweedram (2.50). He beat previous winner I'm Available at Ascot on soft ground but handled a slick track when taking the measure of Archaeology at Newmarket.
BATTASH (4.00) is no great price but is weighted to land the feature Temple Stakes. He scraped home last year from Washington DC, Kachy and Mabs Cross conceding pounds all round but it is a level playing-field this time.
