Czech Her Out got collared in the final few yards which was painful to watch after being held up throughout the race, and came into contention in good style but was defeated by the long-distance traveller from the Jonjo O'Neill stable.
First Redemption had the race run to suit but his jumping was atrocious for the final circuit of the race and that left Sean Quinlan with no chance.
considering there is plenty of racing on today, most of it is terrible other than the Racing League, but the races at Southwell look ridiculously competitive so my only dart of the day comes in the final race at Bath…
Bath 5:10 – Gone 3/1 (1pt Bet365)
I put up Gone a month or so ago at Musselburgh where I expected her to get an easy lead, which she did, but she convincingly beat. I thought she was in the grips of the handicapper, but she ran well last time around at Ripon over a mile to finish 2nd, so she is definitely on a workable mark.
Charlie Johnston doesn't send many horses to Bath, and neither did his father, Mark, when he was the lead trainer, so to see them send Gone on a long trip to Bath catches the eye. Charlie Johnston has accumulated three wins from eight attempts at this track, which is a more than fair record from a small sample size, and it amplifies the fact they don't send their horses here unless they arrive with a top chance of coming away with the goods. Joe Fanning makes the trip down as well, he has another ride on the card, which is a spare for Robert Cowell, so his main intention for the travel to Bath was for this ride on Gone. This horse likes to run from the front, and she has been drawn in stall 1, which is perfect for Joe to get to the front and hopefully not see another rival.
This filly is versatile on any ground, she has won on firm ground, over today's course and distance and has won on good to soft, so no matter the weather she will be perfectly fine. Knowing she has course form is nice to know, as she clearly handles the track and considering this was the venue of her last win back in June where she won by 3.5L it looks to bring out the best of her.
She will have to put in a career-best to win today, but she has finished as runner-up in two of her last three starts so is in good form and I expect a big performance.

Backed this as soon as odds came out yesterday at 7/2. Odds have been slashed overnight.
Rod Millman sends this on a 700 mile round trip up north today. Only runner for the stable at the course today. Very rarely sends his horses up there, only 3 runners there in the past with 1 winning.
Trainer has hit form last few days, last 5 runners finishing positions have been 2,1,4,3,1. Two of those were big prices as well.
They have stuck a 7lb claimer on board today to offset the 5lb penalty for its last win after David Probert and Oisin Murphy both won on its 2 wins.
Last race was a class 4 at Goodwood, drops down into a class 5 today. Both wins were over today’s trip of 6f. Both were on soft, today it is currently good to soft. Looks versatile on any going with 2nd placed finishes on good and also good to firm.
Doubt the yard are sending this all the way from Devon up north for a day out. Should be hard to beat.

Good news for the Millman runner. Softer the better. They actually had an inspection at the track yesterday so it can only be good news. No wonder it’s now best price 7/4.
