SPEED COMPANY (5.15) lived up to his name when swooping to catch Anythingtoday at Ripon and is fancied to follow up at York. Ian Williams has his gelding back in tip-top form on that evidence and although this looks a tad harder, Speed Company makes plenty of appeal.
GHALIB (2.20) provided a 40-1 shock when beating Sputnik Planum at Hamilton and is taken to confirm places. Andrew Balding's well-backed Ocala was back in third, so the form seems solid enough.
At Goodwood, RYDAN (7.10) is offered up as an each-way alternative to hot favourite Mugatoo, an easy winner at Doncaster. However, Rydan can boast plenty of course form, having scored over this 1m 6f trip in early May. Cristal Spirit was almost seven lengths in arrears and looks held.
At much shorter odds SELINO (8.45) should mop up the 1m 3f maiden. James Fanshawe's gelding split Almost Midnight and Bo Samraan in a decent Novice Stakes at Thirsk.
