Another disappointing day of racing awaits us on Friday as the weather again confirms cancellations up and down the country.
I'll be honest absolutely nothing has caught my eye in terms of having a confident selection for tomorrow therefore I have decided to have a small punt on a horse at an each-way price that interested me.
I don't advise staking bigger money on this selection as it's very much a risky bet.
Hildenley 8/1 Each Way – 3:45 Newcastle
HIildenley has a bit of form over course and distance having won with a bit in hand back in September.
He's only 3lb higher here and at the prices, I think he's worth a few quid at a decent each-way price.
This is a very competitive handicap and although market leader First Snowfall was impressive enough last time, I wouldn't be changing at 9/4 given the race's competitiveness.
The main factor that caught my eye which I thought was interesting was connections opting to drop Hildenley down further in the trip. He has ran over 2m1 before but his most consistent trip of recent runs has been over 1m4 but he drops further down to 1m2.
He probably needs things to fall his way as he can be quite a keen-going sort. I'm interested to see what sort of tactics jockey David Allan goes for tomorrow.
