Saint Xavier was extremely poor yesterday at Kelso. His jumping was atrocious, and never looked happy. I thought he would've been suited by the trip, when the others wouldn't have been, but Big River who stays 4m+ won convincingly, which is suprising that Saint Xavier couldn't go with the front two, as fences were taken out, which made it more of a speed test.

A chance is taken on FRENCHY DU LARGE being as progressive as he visually looked from his most recent win at Uttoxeter back in the middle of December. He has followed in with the trend with Venetia Williams' hot form and being a better chaser than a hurdler. He has been raised 9lbs for his win at Uttoxeter, but that shouldn't put a dent in his chance of following up. He looked impressive at the midlands based track last time out. The soft ground shouldn't be a problem as he was a previous winner on heavy ground over hurdles. It's only a four runner race, but its a decent race with the horses who have turned up. Farne brings the best form, finishing third in a Listed Mares Chase last time out, but I think that she was flattered to finish in that place and as close as she did to the winner, and back against the males it will be difficult to repeat that form.

I recently put up AFTER THE FOX when he ran at Doncaster. He ran a decent race that day, but was stretched over 3m, and that was the first time he's been tried over that distance. I thought a drop in trip will make him difficult to beat, if found a similar race to last time, and this looks a decent opportunity. He is clearly in good form, and it's a matter of time before he gets a win. Chester Williams takes the ride from the usual inexperienced rider, which is clearly a positive, and it shows their intentions for this race as they use their main stable jockey to take the ride. There are a couple of horses in this race who will put up a decent race, with Shutthegate being the main danger, coming into this race on the back of a win.

Just watching racing at chepstow meeting should be abandoned hardly a hurdle or a fence to jump not a hurdle or a chase in the long home straight to jump absolutely shocking
It’s an Absolute disgrace georgie they doll them off when it’s a low sun but looks like they have done it today just because it’s a bright sun 🤦♂️🤦♂️

See what’s on for Sky Racing meetings I think.
Weathers put sword to few of my early bets as in I wouldn’t have backed them if I’d seen the conditions. Might be a night to bet closer to the offs and watch Celtic game .
