Racing Tips: Free Tips for Tuesday’s Horse Racing at Doncaster

Yesterday's sole my sole selection was a faller. It always leaves a sour taste in your mouth when it happens. Especially when the backed-in favourite was eventually turned over by a 9/1 shot.

Brian Hughes had Aubis Walk tucked in behind and travelling nicely. She normally jumps well but unfortunately, her front legs clipped the top of a hurdle and down she went. Horse and jockey both up okay which was good to see.

It's one of the reasons I prefer the flat, we see the odd accident on the flat but nowhere near to the extent of the jumps and it's just an added obstacle that can cost you your money. I also don't like to see horses fall, as we saw on Sunday Top Bandit, unfortunately, lost his life in what can only be described as a race to blow away any cobwebs for Appreciate It.

Skytastic 6/1 – Doncaster 1:50

I'm taking another risk here going against the current short-priced favourite Bold Endeavour who was pretty impressive last time out but looks too short at odds on in my opinion.

I'm more than happy to draw a line through his below-par debut over fences.

Skytastic was 2 out of 3 over the hurdles for trainer Sam Thomas last season. He recently contested in a chase run at Warwick when coming up against the likes of Stage Star and West Cork who simply outclassed him on the day.

He made a pretty bad mistake early on and never really recovered from it, hence why I'm happy enough to draw a line through it.

The run at Warwick was back at the very start of November and trainer Sam Thomas I'm sure has been schooling his jumping over the last couple of months.

Lihyan 12/1 EW – Doncaster 1:15

I thought Lihyan at the prices was an interesting runner on debut for Rebecca Menzies.

I managed to catch a replay of Lihyans previous run in a maiden in Cork where he won pretty nicely by roughly 4 or 5 lengths.

His jumping was a bit sketchy at the start but he grew into the race as it went on and his jumping gradually improved before going on to land the spoils.

Always a risk of tripping up in an 18-runner affair but I think he's definitely got more scope than most in this field and at 12s looks like a decent each-way play.

Joe Dadancer and ballyglass are also clear contenders but too short in my opinion to get involved in what looks like a competitive enough race.
