ESCALADE (6.20) is fancied to defy top weight in the 1m 4f handicap at Wolverhampton.
Sir Mark Prescott's filly will appreciate stronger handling after her Ripon third 24 days ago under an inexperienced apprentice. She holds re-opposing Choral Work on that run and Escalade's earlier second to Kepala at Newmarket has worked out, with the winner going down by a short head to in-form Dubious Affair at Newbury.
SPRING CAMPAIGN (4.15) is my other bet on the card. Michael Bell has saddled four winners in the past five days and Spring Campaign makes her handicap debut on the back of a Yarmouth fourth in Novice Stakes company. The three-year-old filly was a couple of lengths behind the 83-rated favourite, so her mark here of 64 in an apprentices' maiden handicap doesn't appear daunting if able to overcome inexperience.
