PERTH’S Monday fixture is blighted by small fields but there are still a few tasty bets. DUCK EGG BLUE (4.10) has an aversion to the stalls so her future now lies over hurdles. She landed a mares’ novices’ hurdle at Southwell on good ground, having three lengths in hand of Olly Murphy’s Smart Getaway, and that form entitles her to go very close in the handicap hurdle. JP McManus’s Lake Baikal makes his handicap debut and any market move would be significant.
INDIAN TEMPLE (3.40) has a terrific record here and will make a bold bid to defy his highest rating in the 2m 4f handicap chase. He was raised another 4lb for beating Lord Bryan at Market Rasen and his front-running style could have his rivals off the bridle before the home turn. Creadan Grae also likes the Scone circuit and did well to beat in-form Amalfi Doug. A 12lb rise makes life tougher for the favourite.
AMALFI DOUG (4.40) is running the track very well and Keith Dalgleish has found the grey another good opening in the three-mile handicap chase. Jonjo O’Neill’s Mustmeetalady impressed with his course and distance success 23 days ago but this is more competitive.
HOLY MOTIVATION (3.10) was no match for well-treated Rainy City here last month but has an obvious chance for Gordon Elliott and Richard Johnson.
