IT'S a big day at Cheltenham on Friday and I've got four tips – two at big prices.
I have five selections in total for the day and it’s the first time I have had that many but won’t be making a habit of it, it just looks a good day's racing especially at Cheltenham.
November is 23.86pts down, well done all winners and good luck Friday.
Cheltenham 12:40
Tintern Theatre really looks to need this step up in distance, he did fall last time but it was in a far better race which probably led to the jumping mistakes. Two runs ago and his seasonal debut was in a listed race where he was second to the far superior rated Finians Oscar. He was finishing his race off well that day which again suggests the longer distance is needed
Cheltenham 2:25
Coo Star Sivola is up against a red-hot favourite in Finians Oscar and is the outsider by some way of the four runners but there are reasons. He was stepped up in distance last time but that looked to go against him as his form at this distance is pretty decent and he is a horse that doesn’t mind a run round Cheltenham.
He has ran five times here with form figures of 2-3-1-6-4 which has seen him win once and placed three times but they were all top-class races. When he was hurdling he won a Listed race, was second in the Triumph hurdle trial, third in the Fred Winter at the Festival and fourth of 23 in the Martin Pipe at the Festival.
He jumped well on his chase debut and did travel well but was held up at the back and it looked a decent introduction to chasing. The drop in distance should suit here.
Lingfield 2:35
Persistence looks a horse that wants this step up in distance and her form so far is pretty decent without winning. She is stepping down in class and it doesn’t look too strong a race with her third last time out against the unbeaten Precious Ramotswe looking good form and I think he is a standout bet here.
Cheltenham 3:00
Cause Of Causes does have a break to overcome but looked good in a cross country gallop last week. He has proved he jumps well, the distance won’t be a problem and he is coming off a second place in the National which was the latest run in a career that has seen him win three Festival races.
Cheltenham 3:35
On The Blind Side won his rules debut after being bought at the Cheltenham sales for £205,000 by Alan Spence. That win at Aintree was only 3/4 length but they did pull away from the third Aye Aye Charlie who he again meets here. There looks to be plenty of improvement and connections do like him and he should be able to handle the rise in class.

Do you think causes of causes runs better after Xmas ?
If this was march I would be all over 13-2 just 1st time out casts a slight doubt.
Maybe I will do cantlow/causes r/f.

He seems to have needed a run or two in the past but he has run well on seasonal debuts, he was looking good last week and looks ready but the main factor is he absolutely loved these fences in March at the Festival when he demolished Auvergnat and Cantlow, he does have to give weight away this time but he was much better against these last time
