CHARLES KINGSLEY (3.05) has had the misfortune to run into a couple of in-form horses on his last two appearances but Mark Johnston's charge can make it third time lucky at Lingfield. Charles Kingsley was no match for Setting Sail (runs 2.15 Ascot) at Wolverhampton but gave rampant Rare Groove a race of it at Hamilton last Sunday. He won on good to soft at Beverley and this trip of 1m 5f could well eke out a little more improvement.
EMIRATES KNIGHT (6.45) stands out in the Novice Stakes at Thirsk. Roger Varian's three-year-old gave useful Muraad a scare at Wolverhampton and this Dark Angel colt is bred to handle some cut underfoot.
The Racebets Derby Trial at Lingfield sees the return of Anthony Van Dyke and Aidan O'Brien's colt could well outclass his rivals. However, there are often upsets in this event and I'd rather have a decent each-way bet on CAP FRANCAIS (2.30), a running-on second to O'Brien's Cape Of Good Hope at Epsom last month.
RIPP ORF (4.00) won last year's Victoria Cup at Ascot and should be rarin' to go again following a couple of pipe-openers. David Elsworth's gelding ran very well in the Lincoln Handicap and was poorly drawn when down the field in the Newbury Spring Cup. Paddy Power are going six places at 10-1, which is enticing.

1st two were well clear and he only lost out by a short head to a good horse. Johnston/Fanninig combo too does it for me. Some decent looking newcomers but Praxeology sets a right good standard.
