SATURDAY didn’t go as planned but at least one of my favourites Bristol De Mai won. Hopefully some of you kept faith in a horse I tipped for a couple of big antepost races last season as he is now considerably shorter for those races this season.
Fifty seven lengths against horses like those is a quite remarkable and outstanding performance. He didn’t just beat his rivals on Saturday, he broke them with his dominant fast pace tactics and jumped brilliantly.
November is now 17.39pts down, well done all winners and good luck Sunday.
Exeter 1:55
Castarnie was a good second to a favourite of mine in Ask The Weatherman, that was a good performance when staying on well at the finish. Castarnie was about 29 lengths clear of his nearest rival on Sunday, You Say What. That was a below par performance by You Say What but even with a 6lb weight advantage it's a lot to turn around and Castarnie also has man of the moment Harry Cobden onboard again.
Exeter 2:25
Brelan D’as is another Harry Cobden runner, this time for Paul Nicholls and J P McManus. Brelan D’as looks well in at the weights here as he is rated 5lb & 9lb superior to his rivals and runs off level weights. Last season he won his only run of the season and this season so far he was third on his only start. That third was a decent run first time for this lightly raced gelding as it was his chasing debut in what looked a hot race, J P McManus paid €225,000 for him and he is open to a massive amount of improvement.
Exeter 3:55
Padleyourowncanoe is top rated on 110 but runs off bottom weight by being a three year old. He has been kept busy on the flat running well and his first hurdles run of the season looked pretty good. This is just his second start for the Tizzard yard and can be expected to improve significantly. And the fact that on ratings he should be carrying 12 stone but instead runs off 10 stone 13 pound must given him more than a decent chance here.

Ran a cracker on his return from a lengthy absence to finish 2nd to Genie in a bottle who won again lto and must come on a bundle for that run.
The other is WOUNDED WARRIOR @40s who may have been pulled up in his last 4 runs but is tumbling down the weights and is now 10lbs lower than at the start of the year. 7lb claimer on-board also and is 3-3 at the track. Worth a nibble at those odds
