WINNETKA (1.50) made an encouraging debut for Tony Carroll 12 days ago at Kempton and he returns to the metropolitan track with an obvious chance.
Formerly with Richard Hannon, Winnetka hit the front over a furlong out but was collared in the final 100 yards. Carroll drops his gelding in trip and the stable has been in good nick lately.
MISTRESS NELLIE (4.50) is a long-standing maiden but the mare's second to Foresee over course and distance in November gives her every chance of breaking her duck. Foresee has won twice since and Mistress Nellie's latest third to King Athelston at Lingfield before Christmas was another solid run. Accessor, penalised for his weekend success at Newcastle, never showed in that Lingfield contest and is 5lb worse off with Mistress Nellie.

ARTHUR’S SECRET represents connections who’ve caught my eye recently and the horse is on a mark where he should be going close, he stays and will appreciate the heavy going. Stable form and the slight ease in grade is in his favour, at around 6/1, he could be a viable each way option.
OFF THE HOOK is another who caught my eye. He won off 121 in a Class 5 on this day last year and was a decent 4/14 in a Class 1 after that. He’s beaten a handful of top horses and would be an ideal betting opportunity if he didn’t have a few questions to answer. He’ll be racing over 3f more than ever before and although he won’t mind the heavy going, it isn’t going to help over the extra distance. His paper form is strong however and I am happy to chance.

Adam Kirby has 4 rides and a couple are bound to go close. He was on board FIGHTING TEMERAIRE two starts back when winning off 74, he beat some in form horses that day and will race off 76. He’s up in class and the trip is a concern having not raced over 6f since 2015 but I am just about willing to chance him in the place market.
The fav Ginger Fox won over CD two starts back off 68 and runs off 77 today whilst Venture is unexposed and has an eye catching jockey booking. Wiley Post represents another in form trainer/jockey combination whilst we have already beat Split Down South and are on even better terms today.

Mistress Nellie is on a long losing run and perhaps worth overlooking but she often hits the frame having figures of 252623. Two starts back she was within 1l of a horse who’s been out 4 times since (3 wins and a neck 2nd). Hollie Doyle has won a couple of races for the trainer recently and I am happy to chance. I won’t be able to put a price up in the morning for the place market so I’ll risk a win bet although I recommend only betting to place.
