With Rizz away on holiday soaking up the rays I have been left in the hot seat to provide this week's horse racing tips!
Elegant Charm 11/2 EW – Leicester 1:30
14 go to post for the division one British stallion studs EBF fillies novice stakes at Leicester.
Not a fan of tipping on 2-year-olds as most of you will already know if you follow me, they can and tend to throw up big-priced winners but the booking of Ryan Moore for Godolphin caught my eye.
The current market favourite behind the scenes is penalised for recent success and only time will tell whether she’ll cope with that or not. At 5/2 I wouldn’t be backing it in such a competitive race.
Only raced once Elegant Charm, however, there was a lot to like about the first run.
Although running a bit green she travelled strongly to a furlong or so out before not really finding anything in the business end. She was bumped around a little as well which obviously wouldn’t help her cause, especially on a first-time outing. I’m putting the greenness and lack of finding anything in the final furlongs down to inexperience and as you’d expect with Charlie Appleby horses she should step forward from the run.
The form of Elegant Charms first run is working out not too badly. The eventual winner that day Bright Diamond trainer by K.R Burke has since gone on to run well in a group company. Burke tends to do well with his youngsters anyway and Bright Diamond was off the bridle a good bit before elegant diamond and still won so normal progress for Elegant Diamond should see her definitely involved in the finish under the Moore drive.
Given the competitiveness of the race, I’m backing the stake each way at 11/2.
Morando 7/2 – Goodwood 3:40
My second selection sees me go to Goodwood for wide-open class 2 and there’s already a massive gamble on my selection who was marked up at 8/1 and is now into 7/2 favourite.
A huge gamble indeed on a 9-year-old who isn’t the force he once was but did run a cracking race last time out when an eye-catching staying on 6th in a class 2 handicap at Haydock.
Morando is most certainly unexposed at this trip of 2m and on a workable mark of 99 should see him go close with the forecast rain also going in his favour.
The main threat probably comes from last year's winner themaxwecan who would of been my selection in this race if the forecast wasn’t on the rain side of things. I can see the ground being a bit too much on the softer side for him and opted to go for Morando who should relish the ground conditions.
Master Milliner was another that caught the eye at the prices although needs to bounce back after a below-par run last time out at York.

Dee’s Dream 2.30 Goodwood looks a bit out classed in this, but was only beaten just over 5 lengths on her debut and could sneak into the top 4 ew extra with a bit of improvement. 95s at the moment and only 8 in the race

I wouldn’t normally go against anyone’s choice on here or put anyone off Cairnzys. but I think Leonine 1.30 at Leicester is a bit over priced @ 50s. Finished 3 3/4 lengths behind the fav Behind the scenes but got no run and had to switch and is 6lbs better off. The only thing I’m worried about is the draw (drawn 14) ew extra paying 24s for top 7, worth a wee wager

Easy by Aristocratic there. Wasn’t for football bets I’d have him as a single. Just hope Limited Ability hasn’t exactly that?
My ‘others to consider’ WOULD have been Relish The Ride that’s won at Thistledown -R5 13/8 and Spirit and The Glory Colonial Downs R9 who’s 11/2 from 10/1 …he will probably get pumped now I’ve mentioned it but certainly was an Ew option.
Anyway I don’t want to put up to many horses eh?

Just seen a replay of FLIGHTLINE again on Saturday at Del Mar for only 2nd time.
if you ain’t seen him beat Country Grammer the Dubai World Cup Champion and 2nd in Saudi Cup and Del Mar oaks getting humped 20 lengths I’d recommend a watch! 👀 😯
