Captain Kane was an 8/1 winner on Tuesday under the talented Billy Loughnane. I thought Billy left it a bit too late, but in fairness, he timed it to perfection. I thought Luke Morris was very unlucky on the runner-up, he gave his horse a cracking ride and nearly nicked it from the front when kicking around the bend, but Captain Kane's turbo kicked in and he sailed down the outside to snatch the win.
Catterick 3:52 – Blazing Son 9/2 (1pt Bet365)
This race is a mixture of horses dropping down the handicap running off low but enticing handicap marks, and those who are on the up and might be still well-handicapped. I've opted for one of the latter, with Blazing Son.
With the ground being soft the night before, and further rain expected to land at Catterick you're going to need a horse who will handle the testing conditions. Blazing Son has proven that he runs well in these conditions, with a win on heavy ground at Redcar last year and a good 4th/7 at Thirsk last time out. For me, the recent run at Thirsk was the acid test for this horse. He has previously been running well in Class 5 and 6 races, and the Thirsk race was his first time in Class 4 company, and though he didn't win, he shaped well and the form of the race has worked out nicely. The winner finished 3rd/8 on their next start in a Class 3 race, still producing a +6 RPR difference to their current rating, the runner-up won the Gold Cup trial at Ayr on Monday and the horse which finished last won next time out.
He is a horse who sits close to the pace, which should be handy as Catterick is a course which favours those who are on the pace or close to it. I don't think he'll set the fractions as the favourite likes to do that, and based on the way the favourite runs, it's going to be a fast paced race, so contesting him for the lead spells disaster. I don't think the favourite will last the 6f on testing ground if he goes the pace like he did the last two times, so I believe he is a terrible price. Blazing Son still appears to be progressing and the horse has been in great form since Mark Winn has taken over as the usual rider with all of the horses four wins have come under Mark from his seven rides.

Small Ew play in a poor race that won’t be burning up the clock.
Mountaineer -R1…Jack The Ripoer (?) 25/1 Ew 3 places Paddy Powrr. *+
Poor race admittedly and not best named horse Oor Jack The Ripper(?) who doesn’t win often but places well and is placed well here.
A good comeback run and speed figures match up for this crud.
USA night cap.

Les pavots 7-45 Vichy 5-2 ??.
Good 3rd to the best juvenile I’ve seen in Europe this season (ramatouelle) last time out in a group 3.
Archie Watson sends over lightning Leo who after winning on debut came 14th in the chesham at royal Ascot and could be anything at this listed level.
This won
Sacred flower 6-33 Vichy 12-1 ew 3 places ??
Godolphin nag had 1 run for Charlie Appleby last October now in a decent french stable with barzalona riding.

This didn’t win
Aye Elvis! ? ?? ?
Zero time to weigh it up so simply on your say so I got on.
Kertez 8-45 Vichy 7-2 ??
Group 3 race with some good types here, Hughie Morrison sends one over and old monty is never far away in such company and a couple of improvers make this an interesting race for such a venue.
Kertez has been following home some good horses in higher grade races, simca mille being one and is due a win for Andre Fabre.
Think I’ve been with you a few times with this Andre Fabre horse last few seasons Elvis. Unlucky!? ?
ATR tracker points out my this side of the pond and French runners for the day and seen 3/1 this morning then of course forgot all about it so with you here for the reasons you say. 2nd to Simca Mile who’s entered in King George looks good form.
One For Bobby for cheeky forecast . ?

Oh if anyone wants a laugh check out Saratoga Race 1.
The A.P Smithven memorial Group 1 Steeplechase in the USA looks crazy and if you imagine Crufts were they roll out the obstacles before taking them away for the walking bit it something like that.
Maybe changed but I cant see why and Group 1 it ain’t!
Least they try I think there’s only 1 more I know in USA.
Welshman 9/2 *.
Reasoning “Look he runs like a Welshman!”

I’ve taken Skybet offer to bet £10 on Wolverhampton and get £10 free bet on any horse racing. Only as I’m in profit this week as it been stinker since last Friday apart from few wee singles.
Last night 3x firsts in the Yankee and easy Nap along with the suggested double last night was grand.
If last horse Ach Du Lieber won it been shade of a grand (£$€¥) BUT held up too late by Kn@b jockey who’s name I’ve forgotten already (I’ll tracker him?)
Anywho….
Good racing but tough so a Canadian and that’s it really bar forecasts.
The singles on the ⭐️ picks are due to the price as obviously i kinda like them all but tight at Saratoga with so many shipping there or needing runs so Horseshoe be Nap of any.
