HEAVY rain scuppered yesterday's Musselburgh nap Cosmic Ray and a similar quandary presents itself today as JACOB BLACK (4.35) wouldn't want it soft.
He looked a certain future winner after cruising into contention over 1m 1f here on his seasonal return but didn't quite see out the trip. Keith Dalgleish drops him to a more familiar distance and he would take some beating if the track is riding no worse than good.
It is a much better class of racing this afternoon and Richard Fahey has his string in rare form. COOLAGH FOREST (2.55) should take a 4lb rise for a recent course victory in his stride, while CLAIRE UNDERWOOD (3.25) transferred her excellent winter all-weather form to the turf when running third to hot-pot King's Advice at Ripon.
DUKE OF FIRENZE (2.25) will have appreciated the rain that fell yesterday and David Griffiths is a dab hand at keep thesae old sprinters ticking over. Duke Of Firenze is well handicapped these days and last month's fifth to Just That Lord at Epsom was a fine return to action.
Mark Johnston saddles top weight GALITELLO (5.10) in an ordinary 1m 6f handicap and his gelding is on the same mark as when successful over two miles at Lingfield in February.
There is turf action at Lingfield and firm-ground specialist MY BOY SEPOY (1.35) is worth a punt if the track is riding quick. The track was rock-hard when he completed a double at Bath last season.

Was gunna do sensible thing an wait till monday for hibbe but cant help myself breaken at punch at 710pm looks like it has been laid out for this race to me. 2nd fav will surely be feeling afects off few festival runs breaken will be fresh trainer likes to win race £100 on nose 6-4 thats me done till hibbees next bet

Cant see the price changing that much if you wait till later m8 and 1 of the experts can give you their opinion maybe as I defo ain’t 1 lol… looking at the race I felt the 2nd fave although has had a tried campaign its receiving weight all round and I quite like its chances however not a race I’ll be betting on as too tough to call for me

im on breaken simply because he was so impressive winning his maiden ,he needs to improve on his jumping,but p towend picked him over the other mullins runners,and he won after a absence of 655 days off the track opefull this helps you
