Saturday was a mixed day of results. I was sucker for yet another horse who needed his first run of the season in Ilaraab. I think he will be winning on his next run, depending where they send him, but based on that run, he came to win his race but didn't have the fitness to sustain it. A couple of poor runs in between the win from An Tailliur who did what I said in the write-up and that is by winning by only what was needed, and he'll be on another winning mark after the handicapper reassess him.

A busy day of racing for a Sunday with multiple cards across England and Ireland, but nothing really stood out to me as a good bet apart from AURIFEROUS who is drifting in the market and it makes him a very good EW bet in the 2m contest at Newbury. It's not a big surprise to see him drift, as the favourite will be strong in the market for punters due to the Ryan Moore and Nicky Henderson combination, with a rare flat runner for the stable. That horse, Ahorsewithnoname, was 2nd in a Cheltenham race in March so will have many people jumping on the hype train. Obviously a handicap debut mark of 80 could be very low for this horse, but it doesn't mean she'll be a banker by any means, and at this moment I think her price is dreadful. It wouldn't surprise me to see her go off as an odds-on shot, as she has a fitness edge and it's a horse which punters will be sucked into, after getting a lot of attention in this.
The form of Andrew Balding's yard is a little bit concerning, with just 2 winners in the last 14 days from 33 runners. They have had some horses run okay in between, but it's definitely not ideal. Either way, I think this lad deserves a chance based on his consistent profile. He recent 2nd at Kempton was a good effort, and it will have put him straight for the flat turf season. He was in front of a couple of horses who are in this field, and even though there is a swing in the weights, I can't see how Justus or Imperium can reverse that form, as this lad looks a stronger stayer. A mark of 82 looks workable, and if I'm honest I don't think this is the strongest of races. Rajinsky would be interesting in this if he came into this on the back of a run, but he hasn't and Hugo Palmer hasn't had the best of two weeks in terms of form either.
I was impressed with how the selection ran lto in a decent Class 2 race, and that was his first attempt over 2m, so there should be plenty more to come.

Finished 8th in what transpired was quite a strong field on debut then won twice by over 3 lengths on turf
Unbeaten Favourite junko is 4-6 but never ran on turf and his odds probably due to the fact that it’s trained by Fabre.
He beat a horse called welwal in one of them which was a notable scalp but got 5 pounds off that and today runs here up in grade off level weight.
Could be a top notcher potentially so added the EVENS top 2 for maximus for cover

I thought Eric Bloodaxe was going to win yesterday and but for a bad jump at the last probably would but 16/1 ew quoted at least I got something back.
Hearts or Trumps at least ran better but couldn’t manage to make the frame finishing 7th. One maybe for later in the season as he is well h’capped.

Interesting grade 1 with many having run in the mares Novice at Cheltenham and stepping up in trip for this race. If Brandy Love can keep a straight line this time I think she’s the one to beat, but my attention will be on NIGHT AND DAY who I’ve already backed for the mares Novice next year.
Wins today she won’t be a Novice and can’t run but the fact she makes her debut in a grade 1 speaks volumes. She’s a half sister to Supasundae
