Racing Tips: Aintree on Sunday is all about Shantou

Aintree 1:15

Shantou Tiger is a frontrunner to take seriously at a track like Aintree as this is a track that has sharp turns and flat with an easy finish. With just 4 wins from 37 starts he isn't the most prolific winner but he did get his act together last time and would have gone extremely close but for the jockey losing his balance. We have Lorcan Murtagh back onboard, he seems to know the horse and has ridden him well in the past so I expect him to be right up there early and should be making the pace. Hopefully connections will want to grab this race by the scruff of the neck and make it a real test, fast tight track he could be hard to catch.

Aintree 3:00

Shantou Village is a good improving horse who can carry on from where he left off last season where he won four of his five chase runs. His latest win was when beating Brother Ted at Sandown, As De Me was back in fourth and he won at Kelsoon Saturday, Shantou Village runs from a mark of 148 here but I think that's low and can see him being a lot higher later in the season.
