Cairnzy is back with a free racing tip for Friday's racing action at York.
I decided to avoid day 2 of York for a couple of reasons. One being I wasn’t feeling great yesterday and never got round to doing a proper study and two being after a quick glance at the cards nothing really stood out for me.
I decided to enjoy the racing yesterday as a spectator, and to be fair there were some great finishes, in particular Rizz’s pick Blue For You who somehow got up on the line!
I’ve gone for just the sole selection tomorrow from York on my all-time favourite.
Stradivarius 11/8 – 2:25 York
I’ll back Stradivarius every day of the week regardless of his age, track, trip, ground or opposition.
I still regard Stradivarius as the best stayer in the division regardless of recent results.
I still believe he would of beaten Kyprios at Ascot if not given a criminal ride by Frankie. That particular ride still annoys me to this day. To take that horse from the back and power on into 3rd was criminal for punters.
Frankie was then dropped for the ride at Goodwood last time out where Strad finished 2nd to Kyprios. Now Atzeni rode that day and he ran into some trouble himself, not to the extent that Frankie did but it’s been a while since this horse has been given a nice clean ride.
Stradivarius doesn’t have Kyprios to think about tomorrow and given there hasn’t been much rain and the chances of rain being unlikely he should then have the upper hand on trueshan who in fairness ran credibly well on ground that the horse isn’t fussed on.
Atzeni takes the ride again over Frankie. Similar to Rizz I’m not Frankies biggest fan, I thought the ride he gave yesterday on Mimikyu in the 4:10 was horrendous. That being said he knows Strad better than anyone else, he’s run this horse most of his career and ran him to 1st place in massive races. I’d of liked to see him on board tomorrow, I think it’s a bit harsh by Gosden but we all know his stubbornness.
Let me know in the comments your opinions on Frankie and the further decision to dismount him from taking the ride on Stradivarius tomorrow.
Win or lose, Stradivarius is my all-time favourite and one of the sole reasons I started following horse racing. An all-time legend of the sport.

Not sure what weather forecast youv been looking at Cairnzy it’s raining at York just now and forecasted on and off all night even the York going report mentions a rain band tonight it’s just how much they get that’s the question hence why Strad is now 6/4 I have fancied Strad for this race for various reasons for months but if the ground goes good to soft and Trueshan runs it’s a completely different ball game.

Hope you are well mate. From my understanding there’s to be rain tonight for a few hours, as you mentioned already it’s raining now at York but I don’t think there will be enough for the ground to move in Trueshans favour.
Then from tomorrow right through the day it’s to be sunny/cloudy with no reports of forecast rain.
I think Trueshan runs regardless, market will crash if he’s withdrawn and the race turns into a disappointment which would he massively unfortunate.

Hi mate all good here King has said Trueshan only runs if they get an adequate amount of rain personally as I bet Strad a few days ago I want good going and Trueshan out.
Because Trueshan is so ground dependent we have the same problem every time hes entered if you take a price on Strad after yesterday’s decs your looking atleast a 30p in the pound rule4.
Hopefully Stradivarius wins and gets the send off he deserves 👍

Stradivarius a NR 😪
Surely with Strad now a NR, the ground will be less of a factor in Kings decision to run Trueshan. I think he will be more inclined to take on this opposition on this ground that he would if Strad was running.
