RACE one of Day two is the Neptune Novices Hurdle, run over 2m 54, and last year saw one of my bets of the festival win this race which was Yorkhill.

Neptune Novices Hurdle

Neon Wolf – Harry Fry 9-4 10bet

I have already given a write-up on this horse under the Supreme Novices Hurdle preview. But as I said this race would be my choice for him although he might even miss Cheltenham to concentrate on Punchestown. In with a chance if running in the Neptune.

Finian’s Oscar – Colin Tizzard 4-1 10bet

Antepost favourite and part of a strong looking Tizzard team. I follow point to point racing a lot, I go quite frequently because this is one place you will find the future stars and I remember Finian’s Oscar from his point days and he cost a hefty £250,000.
He is 3 from 3 under rules and 3 pretty impressive wins, I am expecting a Stayers Hurdle appearance next year at the festival before going chasing and he is a big contender for the Neptune but the odds suggest that anyway.

Bacardys – Willie Mullins 5-1 10bet

Another Mullins horse that has entered the calculations of a race after his win on Sunday. I have previewed a few Mullins horses but not this one. Although he is 10-1, I don’t see him as the first choice for the yard even though he beat a few Mullins horses I have already previewed.

Bacardys won last years bumper at Aintree and although this was a good win on Sunday, I am not impressed.

Let’s Dance – Willie Mullins 14-1 10bet

I have already put up Let’s Dance as my saver bet in the Mares Hurdle but it’s NRNB and I did say I thought Let’s Dance would be aimed towards this race, although with all the injuries at the Mullins yard everything could be up in the air as he prioritises races.

This is what I wrote for the Mares Hurdle: “Let’s Dance fourth to Invanovich Gorbatov in last year's Triumph Hurdle, she was then second to Apples Jade at Punchestown with Ivanovich Gorbatov in third and since then Let’s Dance is unbeaten 4 from 4. I think she will go for the Neptune Novice Hurdle where she is 10-1 but she is also entered for the Mares Novice Hurdle where she is 7-2 second favourite behind Airlie Beach.

It’s between two horses at this stage for me and I am just siding towards Let’s Dance.”
