Cairnzy Racing Tips: Step up to 3m to suit Goshen

First of all I'd like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas.

It's been roughly a year since I was taken on as a racing tipster alongside Rizz on MFT and I enjoy hopping on whenever I do to help you guys hopefully win a few quid.

I appreciate the continued support and hope you'll continue to follow myself and Rizz into 2023 and hopefully build the racing thread further.

Boxing day marks a busy and fantastic day of racing in which I'll be watching as a spectator rather than getting involved in the punting side of things however there is one horse that I think could run a big race at a decent price.

Goshen 4/1 – Kempton 12:45

This really is a cracking race and the one in which I'm looking forward to the most even ahead of the King George not just because of the competitiveness of the small 5-runner field but because there are so many different views on how this race could be run given the particular horses on show.

Champ and Paisley are 2 of my favourites in particular Champ who's a bit of wild wire but on his day is a top-notch and a hard nut to crack if turning up on song.

Paisley is probably past his best, myself and Rizz spoke about Paisley at the back end of the previous jumps season and we both sort of agreed he's looking like a lost cause however he has sparked a revival in his career running champ right to the line on his previous start and a repeat of that run could see him bang there.

There's no doubt my selection Goshen comes with his risks, he's a quirky horse but when he shows up he's got bags of ability. He also takes a step up in trip to 3m which again comes with risks but I'm quietly confident that he will stay this trip well. He's still at an age where he has scope for further improvement however he is up against older horses such as champ and paisley park who you can argue have hit their ceiling.

Goshen returned to the winner's enclosure at Ascot last and the nature of that particular run showed me he can go further.

Miranda is an interesting runner and showed a career best last time out however that run was against her own sex and in tomorrow's race she would need to take a significant step forward, in my opinion, to win although at the prices the market seems to think its a possibility but I'm not totally convinced.
