PLENTY of interesting racing on a very busy Thursday and the Ripon card can prove a money-spinner.
REGAL MIRAGE (5.10) followed up his clear-cut Hamilton success with an excellent effort in better company at York, running fifth to the two market principals Reverend Jacobs and Zeelander. The handicapper has dropped him a pound which must have come as a pleasant surprise to in-form trainer Tim Easterby.
Swansway should run a lot better than he did when fancied at Doncaster last time when trailblazing tactics were employed rather strangely. He ran well over course and distance last summer when coming with a late run.
GURKHA FRIEND (3.40) can continue his love affair with the Yorkshire track, despite incurring an 8lb rise for a comfortable course success last month. He was third in this race 12 months ago off a slightly higher mark, so is not handicapped out of things.
Dawaaleeb is up 7lb for his emphatic Beverley success and should provide the main threat.
GLOBAL ART (2.40) and Juneau look the two to concentrate on in the extended 1m 1f handicap.
Global Art’s fifth to Gododdin at Nottingham came in slightly better class and Ed Dunlop saddled a couple of winners earlier in the week.
Juneau is a typically tough Mark Johnston filly and she had to dig very deep to maintain her advantage to the line at Bath on very slick ground.
At Carlisle this evening, MY GIRL MAISIE (9.20) can go one better than at Haydock last time when cut down by Dashing Poet. Richard Guest’s filly is a dual winner at Musselburgh, so is very much at home on a right-handed track.
Angel Acclaim’s fourth to Lady In Question is solid form, with runner-up Yeah Baby Yeah going in next time out.
MUTADAFFEQ (7.15) led over a furlong out but was unable to contain Theglasgowarrior and Jabbaar at Hamilton. He should be thereabouts once again.
MYSTICAL MAC (7.45) is given a sterner stamina test on his first handicap start. His fifth to Pontefract was quite an eye-catching run as winner Three Saints Bay is rated 89. Mystical Mac has been handed an initial mark of 59 which may underestimate his ability.

Had the fav 8L behind when winning on debut and the fav had runs under his belt.
Providing he goes on this firmer surface must have every chance of repeating.
Is entered in the Irish Derby so I’m sure connections will want to see a good display today.
RULER OF FRANCE 20/1 EW 4 Places 5 (5 places skybet 1/5) 6.50
It usually pays to be drawn low but other than Dance Alone and Mr Ormsby I don’t give anything drawn low much of a chance.
ROF has been off the track for a year so his fitness is not guaranteed but he’s in here off a career low mark of 73 and is a C&D winner off 79. Will love the ground too.

H’cap debut and should prove to be better than a 67 h’capper.
Not the strongest of races.

nice ew there dc well done
No great fancies today. Richard Kingscote looks to have some good rides at Haydock and no one rides this course better. AIRMAX looks the pick of his rides in the 2.00pm for same connections that won last year.
GL everyone.
Ladbrokes have given me a free bet in the 16:10 at Ripon, Anyone have any thoughts on what to back?
Thanks
Commended 12/1 Yarmouth
Frankel’s DNA got a galactico price tag for Commended when a yearling. Every chance Stoute has tapped into that potential.
