ABSOLUTE POWER (2.00) split a couple of decent sorts at Carlisle last month and is fancied to go one better in the 2m 4f maiden hurdle at Ffos Las.
The winner that day was Nigel Twiston-Davies' Count Meribel and he came out the following month to beat Ben Pauling's well regarded Kildisart. Count Meribel had a handicap mark of 129, so Absolute Power sets a fairly high standard.
Ffos Las supremo Di Walters sponsors the race and is doubly represented by favourite Juge Et Parti and Dark Invader. The former was impressive when winning his bumper at Bangor and could be useful over obstacles.
PRIME VENTURE (3.05) will take a deal of beating if wound up for his seasonal return in the 3m handicap hurdle.
Evan Williams has his team in good form and Prime venture was last seen chasing home Mia's Storm in a Pertemps Network Handicap Hurdle at Haydock in May.
That came on good ground but Prime Venture has plenty of form on a soft surface, running fourth to Air Horse One at Ascot in February and hunting up Minella Awards at Sandown in March.
There is some quality sport at Sandown where top weight FIDUX (2.55) is worth an each-way interest in a tough handicap hurdle.
He was third over course and distance in April to the useful Call Me Lord (Henderson) and Dolos (Nicholls).
A comeback fourth to Silver Streak at Chepstow in mid-October was perfectly satisfactory and the handicapper has dropped him 2lb. Factor in the 10lb claim of Kevin Dowling and Fidux doesn't look badly treated.
