BRIGHTON is a notoriously tricky place to back winners but I'll be on-track today and a couple of runners are worthy of a wager.
MISS OSIER (3.10) takes a drop in class following two sound efforts at Sandown. She was quite well backed on both occasions, running fifth to in-form Masarzain then reappearing 17 days later to finish third to Here's Two.
Rae Guest is a master trainer of fillies and Miss Osier should appreciate this drop into Class 6 company and 3-1 seems about the right price.
BAYSTON HILL (4.45) won a 7f maiden event on this card 12 months ago and Mark Usher lately has been campaigning him over much longer trips off higher marks.
Now back down to the same official rating as when winning at Bath in May, Bayston Hill catches the eye dropping back to 7f, especially as this will be his first start in Class 6 grade since winning here last September. Daniel Muscutt rode him that day and is the man on top today. If all 16 runners stand their ground, Bayston Hill is my idea of a tasty ew wager (four places), with quotes of around 14-1 last night.
Of course, we all know what will happen – one horse will come out and we will be down to three places. If that's the case, remember you still get four places on the Betfair exchange, with a Rule 4 deduction factored into any returns.
