THE two middle-distance handicaps at Southwell look trappy but GOOD TIME AHEAD (11.45) could well complete a Fibresand hat-trick under Jamie Gormley.
Good Time Ahead had his rivals well strung out when beating Cousin Khee over 1m 6f 10 days ago and he scored over this shorter trip in November. He is due to go up 2lb, so theoretically remains well treated, and odds of around make him a knocking each-way bet.
Restive likes the track as well and rates an obvious danger, while Moabit is a rare Paul Nicholls runner here.
Keith Dalgleish's MISTER SHOWMAN (2.15), a winner over hurdles when trained by Dan Skelton, scored at Southwell in October but faded into fifth spot off a 5lb higher mark on a return trip. Mister Showman has had a little break to freshen him up and, again, odds of around 5-1 represent great each-way value.
Money for Gavin Cromwell's Irish raider Crescendo would be significant. The gelding won at Dundalk for previous trainer Jim Bolger and connections must be quite hopeful the four-year-old will handle this deeper surface.
CASABLANCA MIX (1.05) has been in grand form at Huntingdon this season and Nicky Henderson sends her to Exeter, another right-handed circuit, with very obvious claims.
Henderson was in cracking form yesterday and Casablanca Mix built on her second to classy Willoughby Court by slamming Theatre Territory 12 lengths on a return trip to the track. She's not much of a price but will be hard to beat.
