ON THE BLIND SIDE (2.30) defends his unbeaten sequence in the Ballymore Novices' Hurdle at Sandown and Nicky Henderson's gelding should win at short odds.

This Grade 2 contest usually throws up an above average young hurdler and On The Blind Side scored impressively at Cheltenham's big November meeting.

WORKBENCH (3.05) gets blinkers for the first time in an attempt to snap a frustrating run of good performances without winning.

His last run at Aintree was another creditable effort finishing a close fourth to Baby King. This is a lower grade affair.

Last year's third Red Devil Star could hit the frame again with Sue Smith's yard going well at present.

The finale is an open-looking novices' handicap hurdle but Denis O'Regan travels over from Ireland for the one mount on CAP DU NORD (3.35).

Christian Williams's gelding wasn't beaten too far in a Chepstow maiden 30 days ago and the handicapper may have erred on the generous side.

Recommended Bets

  • Sandown (2.30) On The Blind Side (5-2, Paddy Power)
  • Sandown (3.05) Workbench (9-4, Ladbrokes)
  • Sandown (3.35) Cap Du Nord ew (5-1, Betfair)
